Ive been taking guitar lessons from Gregg every other week for the last 6 months. The main reason I decided to seek out private guitar lessons from an instructor, was because I couldnt get into online or DVD guitar lessons which I attempted for several months. Moreover, Im old school when it comes down to music lessons, due to learning the cello through classroom instructor- based lessons from elementary to High School, along with private lessons thereafter. With that being said I can say Ive made one of the best decisions towards enhancing my playing on the guitar by taking lessons with Gregg. When I first started taking lessons from Gregg, he provided an individual plan for me to help with learning scales, technique exercises, licks, and improvisation. He showed me how to make my own melodies on the guitar by using scale/chord relations. He provided the theory behind using various chords with scales which I did not gain from DVD or online guitar learning. He also broke down how much time I should spend on practicing the guitar to get where I want to be. He is very encouraging and will provide feedback to you which will enable you to improve in certain areas. I would like to recommend Gregg for beginner to intermediate players, as well as advanced players who are preparing for gigs. In addition, Gregg cannot practice for you, he can only provide lessons. I try to practice from 30 minutes to 2 hours a day depending on my daily schedule. Gregg is a great teacher, I am already playing with others (bassist and drummer) and using the skills he taught me to improvise my playing.
if you take bass lessons from Dave, you won't be disappointed. Whatever style of bass you like, he's been there and done it, and he can take you there too.
Our family has had great experiences with Tempee. My younger sister took bass lessons from him while she lived in the area and thoroughly enjoyed them. My son is currently taking guitar lessons and is really growing as a guitarist. One of my favorite parts about my son's lessons is the music theory that Tempee seamlessly incorporates into the lessons. Tempee's enthusiasm and patience also go a long way in making my son look forward to his weekly lesson and actually practice in the meantime.
When I started lessons with Larry, I had been taking guitar lessons for three years under a learn by learning songs method. I didnt know exactly what I needed, but I knew that I wanted get deeper into music, both theoretically and in my guitar work. I tend towards a combination approach of intellectual and emotional, and I value doing things well, and seeing its link to the larger picture of music. When I pursued Larry as a teacher, I realized I was taking a next step. What I found in Larry as a teacher and person is an expert in blues music and in how to teach music, particularly guitar. He has piqued my intellectual interest and challenges me to keep learning both the guitar techniques and theory. I didnt know exactly what I was looking for, but this was ita Peabody Institute-quality education mixed with blues experience, theory and then throw in endless stories about music from the sixties onward, because Larry was there. You can read his bio for all of the things hes done, and theyre numerous, but I keep learning more. Most importantly, though, Larry is a great teacher. I trust Larry, and I know he sees something in me. He is a cheerleader-style coach, but an honest one. I know that when Larry tells me that I have potential or talent in a certain area, that hes telling the truth. Hell be just as honest when Im not doing something well, also. Larry has a system that works, and he knows how to teach it and adapt it to my style of learning. My understanding of music, my ear especially, has grown leaps and bounds since taking lessons from himI no longer feel frustrated, like Im missing something. I know that if I continue to practice what he is teaching me, I am going to be an expert at guitar and will perform publicly. Larry is an amazing resource, a wonderful teacher, a composer, and a pretty funny guy. Most importantly hes serious about, and seriously involved with and expert in musiches inspired me and hell inspire you.

My name is Chris "Gravy" Taylor and I teach private electric bass instruction for people of all ages. I have been studying the bass guitar for ten years and have played in various musical groups that range from punk rock all the way to jazz. I currently play electric bass for the "Otherworld Jazz Quartet", featuring drummer, Jacob Marinari, guitarist, Jake Koulhaus, and world-renowned pianist, Jeffery Chappell. I also am currently performing with Baltimore's hit soul sensation, "Bosley", and have been gigging professionally with Bosley for about 2 years. I would love to share my musical experiences and knowledge to anyone who is interested in developing his or her own love for music while having fun in the process. The ultimate goal for me in these private bass lessons is to have the student create his or her own style and voice on the bass guitar while enhancing their overall knowledge of not only the electric bass and its role in a musical setting, but also knowledge of music as another language to express various thoughts, ideas, and emotions. I not only incorporate the theoretical and technical aspects about playing the electric bass in my teachings, but I apply these aspects in a way to help the student develop his or her own voice in a way that is musical and expressive. If you would like to get a feel for who I gig with currently, below is a link to Bosley's website.

I studied bass with Rob for over four years. I sought him out as an electric player, but was inspired by him to take up the upright bass as well. His instruction and encouragement allowed me to take on some musical challenges like doubling on electric and upright in a jazz group and playing in a string orchestra along side more accomplished players. I still use his exercises in my normal practice routine. Thanks Rob!
