FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I mostly charge by the job and how long it takes. I know from experience how long any job will take.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Yes. Every three years I have to re-certify my Arborist Certification from the International Society of Arboriculture. I have to get 30 continuing education credits to maintain my certification. All the courses are on tree care. I am currently taking classes for my Maryland Pesticide License.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I believe it was my calling. I have always marveled at trees from when I was a teenager. I hiked in the mountains all through my childhood. I didn't think of trees as making a living. I thought of trees as the foundation of our human existence. I thought it was amazing how they could adapt and survive through all the changes trees went through with the weather. I would rather save a tree then remove it. I find it only necessary to remove a tree only if it is dying, dead, and/or hazardous to people and property. I felt getting into tree work was a great way to contribute to the earth we live on and to the community.
