Donnie Beach, the lead singer of the Baltimore-based Industrial Metal Band "White Shadow", also happens to be one of the most professional, compassionate, and easy to work with audio professionals that I have ever had the pleasure of creating music with. After meeting at an Industrial Music Karaoke event in Baltimore, I briefly spoke about my debut LP/Album "Square Breathing Imprints of Shattered Arms" that I had just finished writing. I explained I was in the process of trying to find a recording studio. Beach was very interested in recording the vocals for the album as I had already finished recording the guitar parts myself. The album is a minimalist project with only acoustic guitar and vocals.
Upon agreeing to an extremely reasonable rate, Beach and I had three, one hour-long sessions to record the vocals for 9 songs and mixing for all 11 songs of the album. Beachs equipment and work-ethic was extremely professional. He was able to give unbiased and invaluable advice on several vocal tracks that required more than one take. His very laid back demeanor and genuine interest in this project was a breath of fresh air compared to other studios I have worked with in the past with previous bands and projects.
Beach spent countless hours mixing the vocal and guitar (that I had brought in recorded but unmastered) tracks and produced the album better than I had ever imagined it could be. This was all done in a very timely manner as well. Donnie Beach is one hell of a musician and producer. I highly recommend him to any musician who needs a professionally recorded and mastered album.
