FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I will quote you an hourly fee depending upon the frequency of desired tutoring and whether you are willing to come to my home or you wish me to come to yours. It is less expensive if you come to my home. I also reduce my hourly fee if you wish tutoring to occur more than once a week. Should you wish the most economical rate, I will provide you with a pre-payment option which will further reduce the hourly fee.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The first step is to call me directly if you are interested in working with me. I will discuss my rates and ask you what your goal for tutoring is. If you are calling to discuss tutoring for your child, I will ask you for permission to contact your child's classroom teacher if you are interested in hiring me, so that I can gear our sessions to help your child in the classroom. We can meet first, if desired, to get to know one another, too, should you desire it. Then we will discuss our schedules to obtain a mutually convenient time to meet on a weekly basis.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am very recently retired from classroom teaching in Montgomery County. I have been trained in the new elementary curriculum which is just being rolled out. I am also aware of the state standards which need to be met at every grade level.
