Clyde Allen Piano Tuning and Repair
For context, I tend to be a bit of a perfectionist regarding certain matters. Wanting to find just the right person to care for my recently acquired grand piano is just one example. After consideration of the many options out there, I decided to put my trust in Clyde Allen (Clyde Allen Piano Tuning & Repair) for an initial tuning. I could not be happier with the decision. It became immediately apparent that Clyde takes great care and pride in his work, and has far greater depth & breadth of skills, experience and expertise -- as well as a desire for precision & perfection as a craftsman -- than a brief bio is able to adequately capture. Trust me when I say that I often have high expectations (for myself and others), and -- [shocker!] -- can probably be challenging to please at times when it comes to certain things about which I have great care. Clyde exceeded my expectations -- just awesome. I would absolutely recommend Clyde Allen (CapitolPiano.com), with no reservation, to anyone in need of either routine tuning or other more complex work required in maintaining and caring for your instrument. As was the case for me, it will quickly become clear for anyone that Clyde takes great pride in his work, and will give the same care and regard for your instrument as do you. In short, I have now found my 'go to' expert in which to entrust future tuning and other work required in maintaining a beautiful piano that will likely be one of the more important parts of my home for the rest of my life. Thank you, Clyde. Chris B.Feb 10, 2018VerifiedClyde A.'s reply

Q & A
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work? While the modern piano has been around for quite some time the service industries that surround the piano are always in constant evolution. We in the industry are always looking for better practices, better materials and anything that will give us the ability to extend the years a piano will be in service and be on the job sounding great.
- What types of customers have you worked with?Piano tuning is the most common job in this line of work. Pitch raising and lowering is also common. Action repairs and action regulation is needed from time to time as is voicing. Like a well maintained car the piano needs to be kept in top condition. I have the skills and experience to keep the piano at its best.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?My customers enjoy the fact that my piano tunings are sturdy and therefore the piano sounds better longer. It is not easy to be able to set a solid tuning on a piano. It takes years of practice to master this skill. My customers enjoy the fact that I know how to make a piano stable and enjoyable for a long period of time.
