Vernon Stephens has been my personal trainer for several months. He is outstanding. We started with basic requirements, filling in a chart, keeping track of exercising on my own. I'm lifting weights and using the treadmill and exercise bike in the gym at work. I demstrated how I was lifting weights and then he showed me the right way to get maximum benefit from using them. I have a bulging disk in my back, and he streamlined the correct excerise to no hurt my back and to encourage me to continue and not make excuses for why my back injury could keep me from exercising. Vernon listen to what you say and then develops it into an appropriate exercise that will help you excel. He reminds me if I need to be to bring in my chart of my regular exercise in the gym at work so he can review my routine and makes suggestions for ways to obtain full benefits with less time involved since going to the gym is difficult to schedule sometimes. He is personable, has a wonderful sense of humor and when I am finished exercising, I never have any pain because he has shown me the correct way to exercise and watches to make sure I continue to do them correctly. He additionally showed a friend of mine various streach exercises to do to keep her back from hurting. She delivers mail every day and she has done it for over 30 years. She said that now that Vernon has shown her the proper streaching exercises, her back doesn't hurt anymore and she is off of the pain medication that her doctor gave her. Over all, Vernon is outstanding and I would highly recommend him to everyone as a physical trainer. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to recommend Vernon.

I have worked over the past several months with Mr. Stevens setting up a personalized health and fitness plan for myself. Mr Stevens is results driven. He shows a genuine concern about your workout and will customize and work with you. As a result of his efforts I am noticing the difference in my clothes.

Great focus on not simply client desires; but, uses expertise to assess and guide client to truly identify the health and fitness goals for their body type. Excellent at assessing abilities and pushing client to excel beyond what they thought that they could. Does a good job of regularly reviewing goals as well as achievements to make adjustments to maintain or meet expectations.

Vernon is a top notch personal trainer. He knows how to develop specific routines that help you meet your specific fitness goals...no matter what they are. He is skilled at coming up with a variety of routines that are always challenging and fun. However, he can be the best all day long, but if you don't eat right and put in the work necessary - you may not achieve the goals you desire. So, in other words, it's a partnership. Good chemistry between the two is important and ideal. We work well together and I am very happy with my progress.

    I like to ask the question have you considered XYZ, or are you aware of the following? Can we make this better? Then explain why we want to do something a certain way, the benefits of doing it that way. Provide them with alternatives.

  • Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

    My most rewarding client was the you lady with MS. We worked as a team to keep her as healthy as we could. I went with her to Physical Therapist, were the three of us discussed and planned her exercise routine. The two of us looked for new exercises to do or ways to enhance the current way we were doing it. I loved the challenge of pushing her.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

    Be prepared to work outside your comfort zone and grow inter-personally. This is not a passive activity, you will grow.
