Ed and the team are dilligent and very easy to do business with. Both of us have used EBRR Maintenance on multiple jobs and always exceeded our expectations (they can even work when we are not there). Everybody at the company takes time to review the goals and expectations. They provided us with multiple options for each price point and was able to work within our allotted budget. I without a doubt see why they come so highly recommended because of their superior service and quality to the customer.

I had a large dying tree growing close to my house. I hired Enrique at eTree Services to take the tree out. Enrique was incredibly responsive and his team did a great job making sure that the house was not harmed during the process. Indeed, even smaller trees nearby were left untouched. I highly recommend Enrique and eTree Services based on my experience.

These guys were great. Right on time at 8:30 AM and got right to work trimming and properly pruning my 25ft Crape Myrtle and were very accommodating when I asked them to cut down one large bush as well. They did a great job with the tree and and also cleaned up the yard and alley behind my house. Looks better than when they arrived :) Highly recommend them.

Fredy Sanchez is a joy to work with .?He listens & is willing to make suggestions and discuss options. He cleaned up tons of leaves, which was my initial need. But I am having him back to trim some trees & bushes next week. His business card states that he offers many services including housecleaning & junk removal. I trust him. He’s a young man who is willing to work hard.

Francisco and his team were truly excellent and exceptional. They weeded a large yard (almost two acres), planted several perennials, shrubs and trees, and put down mulch. They were highly professional, punctual and responsive to my needs. My yard looked incredibly better. I would definitely use them again. A real pleasure to do business with them.

Maynor and his team came and did our estimate and then his team came two days later to complete the work. We had two trees cut down and a ton of landscaping in the front and back. They were fast, courteous, efficient, and went above and beyond what I expected. We will definitely be using them again for our landscaping/ tree service needs. I highly recommend them.

Hiring Sycamore Services wound up being one of the best decisions I’ve made in a while. Bruce Leonard (owner) quickly contacted me after I posting my request for tree service. We made an appointment time and he was courteous enough to let me know when he realized he needed additional time with another customer. The shift did not inconvenience me at all. In fact, I found it remarkable that he made certain I wasn’t left wondering if or when he would arrive. He arrived at the re-scheduled time (just an hour later) and gave ample time to walking my property. My primary concern was about 4 tall trees. Bruce assessed the mature/overgrown trees and lack of lawn (no sunlight filtering through the dense canopy). We talked about other possible improvements for the property, too. He provided me a very reasonable quote. I was quite impressed that Bruce’s knew exactly the names of each tree, shrub and ‘volunteer’. I made appointment for estimates from other contractors, as is recommended. L accepted the quote from Sycamore Services. It was easily more favorable than the others’. When Bruce and his crew arrived to trim my massive trees (townhome with 35’ trees overtaking the roof), they began their work immediately. The trees look beautiful again and will be healthier. They left my property clean of debris and we will get sunlight down to the ground. I highly recommend Sycamore Services. I found Bruce to be knowledgeable, humble, helpful, friendly, easy to talk to and they got the job done!

Kirk, of H & H Tree Care. Did an amazing job cutting down our tree and repairing our fence. He was very professional, kind, and very considerate, thoughtful, and very understanding. We needed this job done right away due to a HOA time frame and he understood our need to get the job done in a timely matter. If you ever need a tree cut, removed, or any job as this please don't hesitate to give him a call. You will be very pleased with him and the quality of his work.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost to trim a tree?

The national price range for tree trimming is $270-$450. Tree trimming is often done by a professional arborist who is trained to safely trim and prune trees for both the health of the tree and the safety of the residents and their property. Trying to do your own tree trimming is not advisable unless you have the proper know-how. Tree trimming companies may charge an hourly rate for their services. The hourly rate may be higher or lower for different trees to reflect the relative safety measures, skill, equipment or people power needed to handle the job. For this reason, most tree services provide free estimates.

One example of an hourly rate for professional tree trimming services is $150 per hour. Costs may be under $100 or could be higher than $300 per hour, depending on variables such as proximity to buildings, health of the tree, height and diameter of the tree, and type of tree trimming desired. Geography and regional cost of living and regional costs to do business will also play a role in your tree removal costs.

How much does it cost to remove a tree stump?

Once you have a tree cut down, you’ll probably want to remove the tree stump as well. You may want the stump removed for aesthetics, the tree stump could be diseased, you might want to prevent regrowth, or you may find the roots are causing problems and need to be removed. Tree removal costs don’t always include the cost to grind out or dig out a tree stump after the tree has been felled and the trunk removed. The national average cost for stump removal ranges from $150 to $200. There are two main methods for dealing with tree stumps. In grinding, pros use a chipping machine to grind away the above-level tree stump until it sits just below the soil surface. Tree stump removal entails lifting the entire root ball of a tree out of the soil. Removing the stump will leave a hole in the ground and also take more time, labor and money than stump grinding. Here are some examples of average tree stump removal costs:

  • Stump grinding: $2-$4 per inch.
  • Tree stump removal: average of $60-$350.

The final price will depend on the stump’s size, condition, location and condition of the soil around it.

How much does it cost to remove a fallen tree?

If you need to have a tree cut down, have you planned what will happen next? Arborists often charge an additional fee to quarter and remove the fallen tree from your property, so anticipate this as part of your tree removal costs. You can elect to have the wood cut for use in your fireplace, or you may prefer to have it hauled away completely.

Tree removal costs may vary based on the height and the width of the felled tree. Size affects the labor required for removal, which will be reflected in the cost. For example, a tree service company may charge an additional $100-$120 to haul away the pieces of a felled tree. The service may cost as little as $75 in some regions and more than $150 in others. Regional labor rates, the cost of living and the cost to do business in your area will be reflected in your tree removal cost.

How much does it cost to cut a tree down?

When you’re ready to have a tree on your property come down, it’s time to call an arborist. The national average price range for tree-trimming costs is $270-$450. Tree removal costs can vary based on the height, diameter, location and health of the tree, and on whether you want to remove the stump. Height plays a major role in tree removal costs. Small trees, no more than 30 feet tall, are usually thinner in diameter and easier and safer for an arborist to manage. Removal of a small tree can cost anywhere from under $150 to over $450. Removal of medium-height trees, from 30 feet to 60 feet tall, could cost anywhere between $150 and $850 or more. Tall trees, typically 60 feet to 80 feet tall, may start at $500 or cost more than $1,000 to cut down. As the height and diameter increase, so does the cost.

Location is critical, too. Removing a tree in an open space is quicker and presents fewer obstacles than removing a tree that is growing flush to your house. Arborists can assess your tree and provide you with quotes based on the variables involved. For example, removing a medium-size hackberry tree that was growing too close to a home — the roots were damaging the home’s foundation — cost $1,500. This price included rope-down, house protection, tree quartering and stacking, and stump removal.

How much does it cost to cut down a massive tree?

If you have to remove a big, beautiful tree from your property, you’ll definitely need an arborist. Cutting down a massive tree without the proper tools or training can lead to major property damage or injury. A huge tree may need to be removed if it is diseased or dying and poses a safety risk, has suffered a blow from a storm and isn’t safe, or is growing into your home, your home’s foundation, your septic system, or your power lines. Removal costs for such large trees will depend on the tree’s height, diameter, and relative safety and accessibility, as well as whether you also need the felled tree and stump removed. The bare minimum for removal of a tree over 75 or 80 feet would be $1,000. This may not include tree quartering and removal or stump grinding. Stump grinding ranges on average from $2 to $4 per inch of the stump’s diameter. There is no set price as each situation is unique, so it’s always best to have an arborist give you a quote and detail exactly which services are included in the price.
