Introduction: I have loved to sing since, well, as long as I can remember. I sang in school, church, and in front of anyone who would listen. I learned to play the piano in elementary school. I learned guitar and started writing earth songs while my kids were growing up. I still perform around the washington area. Teaching children and any age person who wants to share some time with me is a thrill. ..it never gets old only better. I am still learning. Music is an incredible experience. Whether you Listen to it, create it, play it, sing it or simply explore it. ...there is nothing else that i have found that moves my heart like music. If you are considering lessons on an instrument (or your own voice) then you already know this emotion. I teach the techniques, how to read and understand the written music, how to listen, how to perform, how to practice effectively, how to easily enjoy the basics and most importantly how to find you own expression thru music. If you want to share this love with your child, we will learn together. All of my students parents are encouraged to share the lesson or at least understand the practice so they can reinforce the child's efforts. It's work to learn something new. It's not always easy. But i am not pushy or strict, only loving and gently encouraging for their best effort. The reward for the student is realizing their own song has power and magic when it's played well. I just bought a new baby grand and that makes this even more fun!
