I have gotten a series of guitar lessons from Stevie. The progress I've made is amazing. If you're looking for a relaxed atmosphere to ask questions and learn to play guitar, Matthews is your guy. He is passionate about music and your ability to get better. I'm very excited to continue to learn more.

Dan's a fantastic teacher because he makes you want to be a better musician. He uses different ways of instructing that specifically cater to your tastes and interests. He's familiar with a wide range of music, genres, and instruments. I came to Dan for beginner guitar lessons, but ended up gaining much more musical knowledge than I could have ever imagined. Dan helped me with the technicalities of the guitar, and helped me refine and add to my skill as a drummer of 11 years. In Jam Class, we played everything from James Brown to Nirvana. Dan is able to foster a great community of musicians within Jam Class, and will not only teach you to play, but to perform and work with other musicians.

if you take bass lessons from Dave, you won't be disappointed. Whatever style of bass you like, he's been there and done it, and he can take you there too.

When I started lessons with Larry, I had been taking guitar lessons for three years under a ‘learn by learning songs’ method. I didn’t know exactly what I needed, but I knew that I wanted get deeper into music, both theoretically and in my guitar work. I tend towards a combination approach of intellectual and emotional, and I value doing things well, and seeing its link to the larger picture of music. When I pursued Larry as a teacher, I realized I was taking a ‘next step’. What I found in Larry as a teacher and person is an expert in blues music and in how to teach music, particularly guitar. He has piqued my intellectual interest and challenges me to keep learning both the guitar techniques and theory. I didn’t know exactly what I was looking for, but this was it—a Peabody Institute-quality education mixed with blues experience, theory and then throw in endless stories about music from the sixties onward, because Larry was there. You can read his bio for all of the things he’s done, and they’re numerous, but I keep learning more. Most importantly, though, Larry is a great teacher. I trust Larry, and I know he sees something in me. He is a cheerleader-style coach, but an honest one. I know that when Larry tells me that I have potential or talent in a certain area, that he’s telling the truth. He’ll be just as honest when I’m not doing something well, also. Larry has a system that works, and he knows how to teach it and adapt it to my style of learning. My understanding of music, my ear especially, has grown leaps and bounds since taking lessons from him—I no longer feel frustrated, like I’m missing something. I know that if I continue to practice what he is teaching me, I am going to be an expert at guitar and will perform publicly. Larry is an amazing resource, a wonderful teacher, a composer, and a pretty funny guy. Most importantly he’s serious about, and seriously involved with and expert in music—he’s inspired me and he’ll inspire you.

Brett was extremely flexible in being able to provide us a timeframe for piano lessons for our daughter, responded back quickly to emailed questions, and my daughter adored her piano tutor. We're really excited to get her started in weekly lessons.

Mr. Walls is an enthusiastic and patient teacher. As a choir member at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton for the past fifteen years, I have been able to sing liturgical music, and participate with other choirs in singing more complex pieces of music, such as requiems and compositions for rites of the church and special occasions. Our choir has sung in various languages, and joined other choirs in ecumenical choir fests. Mr. Walls has studied music composition, conducting, and history, and is an accomplished musician on several instruments, including the piano, organ, and guitar. He has several years teaching experience in the U.S. and abroad. I would say Mr. Walls' expertise and talent are second to none.

Mr. Vedder is one of the most patient guitar teachers you could ever ask for. He is very professional and will take the time to answer all of your questions, even when you don't know what to ask. I customizes the lessons for you and the music you want to learn. Each lesson takes place one on one with 100% individual attention to you. He makes getting started with the guitar very easy and rewarding. When you start taking lessons with Mr. Vedder one of the first things you notice is he is very passionate about music and honestly wants to pass his knowledge on to new people. To him it's not about making a buck, it's about making music.

My 16 year old son has been taking guitar lessons from Tom for so many years I can't remember exactly how many it's been. Maybe five. Tom was born to teach (oh yes- and also be a musician!) He is kind and patient and really cares about his students as people, not just as musicians. In our heavily scheduled life, Tom never watches the clock. The lesson is over when it is complete, not when the timer beeps that 30 minutes is up. My husband and I would highly recommend Tom to anyone wanting to learn guitar - from beginner to expert, young to old. He's the best.

Great teacher, even better guy. If you're looking for guitar lessons in Lancaster look no further, he is your man. I came to him with no prior knowledge on how to play the guitar and I've progressed much further than I ever would have expected in less than 6 months of lessons. Also, the man is a legend at playing guitar.

A friend's granddaughter told me about Jason Free with owner of SoundSmith Music Center. I decided to try to set up lessons with him. I have been a guitar student with Jason for three and a half years. My playing has definitely improved. He is generous with his time. The location of the store is convenient and the rates for lessons are reasonable. My lessons are structured to help me improve but we also play songs that I have worked on and Jason will help me overcome any problems I may have with the song. My granddaughter got a guitar for Christmas and I recommended my daughter contact SoundSmith Music Center for lessons. Sophie is now a student at SoundSmith Music Center. I would definitely recommend SouthSmith Music Center to friends and family.

Max Kuzmyak is a very knowledgeable musician with a large skill set that is useful in the music industry. He can teach trumpet, guitar, voice, and has extensive theory knowledge as well. He is also well versed in recording and audio engineering. Max is very friendly, easy to work with, and professional. I would highly recommend working with him if you are looking for a private teacher, or a recorder.

I've been working with Maurice for just a couple months now. He has taught me more guitar in less than 3 months than I've picked up in over 30 years of trying to pick it up by myself. He is not only a great guitarist, he is also a great teacher.

I've been taking lessons here for a year or two I think. They have been great and I plan on continuing to do so. Nothing like learning to play guitar while playing a song you chose.

Andrew has been my 9 year old son's guitar teacher for a year and a half now. Andrew's approach is very kid-friendly. In our case, my son picks the songs he wants to learn, and if Andrew doesn't know them, he will look up the song on the iPad and learn it along with him. I appreciate that he is not only teaching skills, but also modeling how to learn new things. My son has picked up on this, and works on new songs on his own now by looking them up in his chord songbook, finding online tutorials or figuring it out by ear. Along the way, Andrew weaves in the basics like scales and theory. My son says about Andrew: "He is really nice and keeps things at your skill level. If he thinks you're getting really good at one subject, he'll add something more challenging." My son's guitar playing has improved dramatically since he began taking lessons with Andrew, and he has a deeper appreciation for all kinds of music as a result.

James (Jimbo) is an incredible guitarist and an awesome, fun teacher! As a mostly self-taught musician with a deep technical understanding, he knows how to break it down to a level that is understandable and accessible for anyone at any musical level.
