FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
As a nurse and a personal trainer, I am obligated to demonstrate yearly continuing education and re-certification that enhances my practice.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
After 20 years of working with clients to manage their disease process, I realized this could all be prevented if they were reached before me. This inspired me to become a personal trainer. My health background enhances my ability to create exercise programs that will assist individuals in reaching their goals (weight loss, stoppage of medications, improved health).
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I perform an initial health assessment of all clients. This consist of a general health background (medical conditions, medications, checking of blood pressure, heart rate, and respiratory status). I review the clients previous and current activities (exercise, hobbies, profession). I also review past exercise regimens. I next evaluate the clients nutritional intake and offer advice on how to enhance their diets. After this evaluation I send the patient a copy of my assessment along with an individually designed exercise plan to assist them in meeting their goals.
