Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: I am both an independent award-winning writer and a teacher with many years of experience working one-on-one with writing students. I bring my professional experience as a writer to the teaching, helping those who need an editor or manuscript guide with a comprehensive sense of how writing works and why it matters. I love watching how clarity in someone's writing becomes clarity for their thinking. It's a beautiful thing when better sentences and clearer ideas help a writer see themselves more clearly. I always tell my students that reading, writing, and thinking are three mirrors of each other; improve one and the other two improve as well.

Jason has been very helpful, and as a published author in the non fiction realm and an excellent writer himself, he could immediately see what needed to be worked on in my MS. He put considerable time into an excellent critique that has been more than I expected.

FAQs

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

Much to my surprise, I became a writer in college. I realized suddenly that writing was the only thing that made sense to me. I like the feel of words on a page, and love to shape and reshape them until they say what matters. There is a mystery behind words, behind sentences, and there are endless rhythms with which we can express something about ourselves and the world.

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

    1) Identifying the true purpose/focus of the writing; 2) Redirecting the writing toward that focus; 3) Rewriting to keep the voice consistent and clear; 4) Examining every sentence for awkward phrasing or errors.
