FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Yes. For wedding photography I offer two formats: (I have also attached a pricing guide to assist you) Hourly coverage: $300 per hour with a 3 hour minimum. The rate includes the photography, professional artistic editing of your images, and you always get your full resolution images with a printing release. Another nice feature is a secure password protected web gallery on the website where your images are hosted for 6 months or more. The gallery has a built in secure shopping cart from which to directly order prints and other products, making it very convenient for sharing your images with your family and guests. Packages: Carefully designed to be a tremendous value due to the time, services and incredible albums they include, as well as your images on disc and other high end items like canvas gallery wrap prints. The highlight of the packages are the artistic albums themselves, which are custom designed by me and printed by custom bookmakers in Italy such as Graphistudio and Album Epoca. Visit their websites to get a feel for the stunning books they produce. For family portraits, I offer a low session cost which includes a private gallery of your images on my web site, and prints and other items can be purchased separately from there. Like with weddings, I base all of my systems around customer convenience while providing simple, yet effective options to choose from.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I introduce myself and offer to meet them at my commercial business location in downtown Saco or some local place. Meeting potential wedding clients face to face is important for many reasons, and most important is their comfort level. I want them to ask me questions, and see how my personality will work amongst their family and friends on their special day. My gallery in Saco also allows for a chance for people to see more of my actual work, as a website can sometimes only tell so much. Once a business agreement is formed with new clients, an account is opened for them clearly documenting all transactions and current balance information. This info is regularly shared with them so the communication level is transparent and honest. I also provide lots of answers and guidance as I have two decades of experience to fall back on. New clients, like all my clients, are very important to me because they mean everything in creating and maintaining my preferred business model, which is heavily reliant on client referrals and positive word of mouth.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have an Associates of Fine Arts from The Maine Photographic Workshops (now the Maine Media Workshops) in Rockport, Maine and a degree in Graphic Arts/Printing Technologies from CMTC. The skills learned at these programs provide me with a deep knowledge base between two related fields. I had also worked for many years as an assistant to many prominent Portland area photography studios and gained a vast array of experiences in many aspects of the industry.
