I was not personally home when they were here but when I did come home I found my home to be in MUCH better condition! Our home was disgusting it was a foreclosure and a lot of things needed to be scrubbed. They did an excellent job. Showed up on time and were very nice over the phone. Would hire again. I can actually use my shower and appliances now!!

Dublin did an excellent job cleaning our very dirty garage. Lori has a keen eye for surveying the job and sees what needs to be done without being told. Lori and her team were easy to deal with. They were punctual, thorough, and friendly. They traveled a long distance to our location and their prices were competitive.

I called a few cleaning places to get a round about estimate on how much it would cost to clean my house. It is about 2000 square feet. Four bedrooms three bathrooms, kitchen, dinning room, and basement. No one would give me a round about estimate and could not come last minute. I need pretty much an emergancy deep cleaning because we were having a reception at my house for a wake for my father's passing. I thenB&D cleaning and spoke with the owner Bobie. She was so sincere considerate of my feelings and the situation. She gave me a rough estimate over the phone and did advise me that it could be a bit more depending what needed to be done. Bobie also told me that she had several bookings for this day but especially because of the situation she would make it possible and she usually can't squeeze in between scheduled cleaning. Within the next two hours she arrived with her crew and they were very professional and quick and did an excellent job.The job was actually cheaper then quoted over the phone so I gave her and workers a tip being she went above and beyond to help me. Other companies that did come out wanted outrageous amounts and some were rude and very unprofessional. I told Bobie since they did such a great job I would like her to come out every two weeks. I highly recommend this company... They are awesome.

Darlene did a last minute one time clean for us before we showed our house to sell! She did a fantastic job and when I came home from work I couldn't believe my eyes! My house looked and smelled great, totally ready for the buyers to walk through. She was also super careful and considerate of our pets in the house! Can't thank you enough Darlene, we highly recommend her and will definitely hire her team again when we move out!

So honestly her and her son worked hard.. They were a little bit late but there is a ton of road closures around me so I can't really blame them.. I was impressed until I paid them .. more than originally quoted which I have no problem with because I expected to pay more... however, the areas that were supposed to be done under normal contract were missed .. The inside of my shower was untouched .. the lip on the inside of shower door was not touched and also the tile and accessories on the tub platform were never dusted... these are standard DD in my eye so I am a bit disappointed with those few items.. I would still consider them again however I would make my expectations even more clear !! Kellie Holcomb

I hired Jam Restoration to replace plumbing fixtures, a vanity and install a shower stall, etc. in a rental property that I own. David was prompt in his response and his quote was reasonably priced. After work began he agreed to add a couple more items I requested (an additional toilet replacement and new flooring.) The additional work was reasonably priced as well. He began the work when he said he would and it was completed in a timely manner. When I mentioned one item that needed a minor tweak, he came out and addressed it. Overall I'm pleased with how things turned out including the tile work around the shower stall, as well as the toilet and vanity recommendations. I will consider Jam Restoration for future work. Thanks.

My appointment at 9:30, S & A cleaners were at my place ahead of schedule. My apartment home looked like it did when my family and I first moved in. There wasn't a crevice that wasn't attended too. The best part was the outstanding job done on my boys bathroom. For parents with boys, you can imagine. The bathroom looked AND smelled brand new. I would definitely recommend S & A Residential Cleaning for all of your cleaning needs.

Living in a large apartment complex in Downtown Detroit, it is hard to come by a quality cleaner. I'm simply very busy with my career & somewhat lazy. Eric was very responsive & his work is the best I have experienced from ANY home cleaning company. Mold was building up in my bathtub area which is now 100% gone without even requesting it. I highly recommend Amour Cleaning if you're going to pay for this type of service - this is worth every penny & delivers what you want/expect.

Tommy went above and beyond cleaning our home. As, I suffer from disabilities I had fallen so far behind I was concerned of health influences. Other cleaners refused to help us. Tommy and his crew not only tackled the huge task ahead of them; they didn't make me feel guilty and ashamed like the last cleaner. So thank you for your Grit, your kindness, and professionalism.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How can I get my grout clean?

Dirt, mildew and grime can make your grout lines look downright tragic. If you have the ability, DIY tile and grout cleaning is definitely doable. Your main obstacles are time, project size, availability of the right materials and effort. Your first step in tile and grout cleaning is making sure the surface area is cleaned of basic dirt and buildup and wiped down. Be sure not to use a bleach-based cleaning agent, which could react dangerously with the vinegar used in later steps.

Depending on the delicacy of your tile and grout, it may be wise to start with water and friction before proceeding to a cleaning solution. In the shower you can spray the area while brushing gently, or use a spray bottle filled with warm water on countertops or floors. If water won’t do the trick, try a solution of equal parts warm water and white vinegar, and repeat the gentle brushing motion. This combination should begin to lift dirt and grime from the grout. For additional tile and grout cleaning power, baking soda applied directly to grout lines and sprayed with your water vinegar solution can help suds off sticky grime. If your DIY cleaning solutions aren’t doing the trick, store-bought sprays and pastes may have more cleansing power. Rinse thoroughly after cleaning and enjoy your sparkling clean grout.

Tile and grout cleaning supplies include:

  • Old standard or electric toothbrush
  • Stiff bristle brush
  • Spray bottle
  • White vinegar
  • Commercial grout cleaner

How much do you pay for house cleaning?

Hiring a professional house cleaning service is a helpful way to have a healthy home even when your work and personal schedule is packed. House cleaning prices vary based on how many square feet your home is, how dirty your house gets, and how often the cleaning service comes. Some companies charge a set amount — such as 5 cents — per square foot, with a minimum amount, such as $100. The national average cost for house cleaning ranges between $110 and $150. Prices can be lower in areas with a lower cost of living, higher in big cities or affluent regions. You may save money by increasing the frequency of your house cleaning visits. Often a company will charge you less per cleaning when you schedule more cleanings per month. The cost advantage rewards your loyalty, and also reflects the fact that more frequent cleanings make it easier to maintain a high level of cleanliness in your home. A housecleaning service may charge more for the first visit or for one-time services than for recurring cleanings.

How much does it cost to deep clean a house?

Deep cleaning a house goes beyond the surface level to clear out the dust, grime and gunk that’s collecting on the fan blades, hiding in the blinds, and built up inside the refrigerator drawers. Deep cleaning of a home or apartment costs more than regular house cleaning because it takes more time, effort, and cleaning products. You may choose to have a deep cleaning once or several times a year in addition to your standard cleaning services. You may have a one-time deep cleaning to prepare for company or to clean after a house party. Companies may charge an hourly rate or a price per square foot, or may offer you a flat rate after they have visited your home and estimated work time. The national average house cleaning price is $110-$150, with rates ranging higher for deep-cleaning services. Here are some examples of how a company may calculate their deep-cleaning prices:

  • 10 cents per square foot (compared with 5 cents per square foot for standard house cleaning).
  • $300 for a 3,000-square-foot home.
  • $25 per hour per worker for deep-cleaning services.

How much does it cost to clean tile and grout?

The national average cost for tile and grout cleaning ranges from $190 to $250. Pros may charge a flat fee or by the square foot. Rates can vary depending on the type of tile and grout you have (more delicate tiles may mean specialized products or careful handwashing), how dirty your tile and grout are, and what part of the country you are in (regional labor rates and costs to do business affect costs). For example, one floor cleaning company charges 75 cents per square foot for tile and grout cleaning for projects that permit cleaning by machine. Another company may charge $30-$50 per hour for hand-cleaning of tiles. Companies often charge a minimum fee for services to ensure their business expenses are met when they accept a job, no matter how small. In addition, a tile and flooring cleaning professional may charge added fees, such as $25 or more, to move heavy furniture or appliances.

How do professionals clean tile and grout?

If you need tile and grout cleaning and don’t have the time or mobility for scrubbing your entire house on your hands and knees, it’s time to turn to the pros. Tile and grout cleaning professionals have industrial-grade machines designed for the sole task of cleaning the porous materials of grout and tile. Typically, a cleaning pro will come out to assess the job and provide you with a quote. Often they charge per square foot (for example, 75 cents per square foot), with higher prices or an hourly rate for areas that will need hand cleaning. The national average cost for tile and grout cleaning ranges from $190 to $250. Once onsite, the pros thoroughly clean the area by wiping or sweeping down and then vacuuming up any dry dirt. Next a chemical tile cleaner is sprayed over the surface, causing dirt to loosen and adhere to the spray; the industry term for this is “suspension.” The pros then clean the floor with professional-strength machines, which often use a combination of steam, brushes and vacuum to loosen, agitate and lift entrenched dirt. Your floor is then rinsed, removing all the spray. Usually a small room can be cleaned in under an hour. Applying a sealant afterward is recommend and will also affect cost.
