Maintenance Inspection
In a home, very few things are maintenance free. Proper and on-going maintenance of the houseÃÂs structural and mechanical systems is essential to retaining and increasing the value of a home.
A maintenance inspection involves a thorough inspection of a home and property every three to five years, which can yield significant returns.
Inspections can identify and monitor certain conditions and components that may lead to safety hazards for family members and detect potential problems before they become serious and costly. The inspection helps the homeowner to be proactive and not reactive.
For example - regular inspections of the roof can provide advance warning to allow for several roof quotes in order to make an educated and cost effective purchase of a new roof covering.
If no maintenance has been done and the roof starts to leak, the situation becomes an emergency and no comparative shopping can take place.
The result is that the homeowner has little time to choose a roofer and does not have the negotiating leeway that he/she would have had if they had planned for the repair.
Preventative maintenance can help to avoid repairs, extend the life expectancy of many components of the house and in some cases, reduce energy consumption and cost.
A good home inspection report can become the blueprint for your home maintenance plan. It can help to prioritize home improvements and offer advice on the best ways to approach repairs.
One thing and only one thing is protecting the health and purchasing of a home for the public.
