Ted is tutoring my son in high school algebra. He tries hard to accommodate our schedule which we really appreciate. So far, my son feels that his tutoring sessions are going well and he has a greater understanding of math concepts that were confusing in class. Ted is helping Justin feel more confident:)

Heather has been working with my daughter for almost 2 years. Heather mixes intense study with fun games and lots of laughter. My daughter's reading skills have grown and well as her confidence. She looks forward to the hour she spends each week with Heather. As a parent, I enjoy working with Heather as well. She provides great feedback and is great at ensuring that her lessons support what my daughter is learning at school. We appreciate her positive attitude and how much fun she brings to the lessons.

We were pleasantly surprised when she did not charge us for our first meeting. She wanted to meet our daughter first and to find out about our expectations, which I think was important. She was very attentive and came back with a plan to help us reach our goals. She had a list of books she feels were appropriate for my daughter's level and was open to suggestions and changes. Overall a joy to work with. My daughter likes her and we look forward to see her every week.

My son who is 12, has been tutoring with Kris Gibson for 3 years now in math. Kris is a very dedicated individual who really loves working with kids. My son says he is his favorite "teacher" and looks forward to tutoring Tuesdays with Mr. Gibson. My son's grades in Math have consistently been A's and B's since he started working with Kris. I highly recommend Mr. Gibson as a tutor!!

Susan is a great teacher, or should I say, leader. She led me through complex material and helped me to understand how things relate to one another. After that, everything else fell into place. She had great patience and ease. Great job!

Nate was exactly what I needed from a proof reader. Easy to communicate with, professional, and he got the work done for me fast. I had prepared a lengthy operations report and had initially hesitated hiring out a proof reader, but the benefits of Nate's services were immediately apparent and he was able to get the job done without over extending my timeline. Again, easy and professional to work with and significantly beneficial to my project. I'll definitely be working with him in the future.

Our school is different from all the other tutoring schools because it creates Individual Learning Plans for each student. Students do not have to waste time traveling. All of the materials are uploaded into the virtual classroom. Students do not need books or notebooks. They have a dashboard for their assignments. Students receive and ID and password, which they can use to log into their accounts and to the assignments. About

Dear parents and students, Home Room Learning (HRL) middle school and high school course registration is open. Also, sign up for in-a-flash classes, college application workshops, and SAT essay prep and practice tests, which are available anytime. HRL provides challenging and affordable student-centered courses to complement private, public, or home school programs, to overcome geographic isolation, or to allow students a navigable classroom. The level of instruction and personalization, and depth of course work are comparable to that of a private school; but offered online. All courses are independently designed, and individually taught by master teachers, specializing in personalizing instruction for the online learner. Once enrolled, students log in to their courses at the HRL website. HRL uses Moodle, a virtual learning environment, to deliver online classes. The online delivery, and construction of courses allow teachers to reinvent, rethink, and re-imagine coursework in real time to respond to student abilities and interests, and even to global happenings, should the need arise, as the semester unfolds. Courses are structured to offer a lesson for each day of the week, Monday to Friday, excluding holidays. A student may enroll in a 15-week course, or elect to take a shorter 10-week session, or 5-week session. One Home Room Learning teacher is assigned to each course offered. Courses are capped at ten students, so no course will exceed the 10:1 teaching ratio. Home Room Learning courses, limited time offer, include: * College application essay workshops * SAT essay quick-prep * SAT essay 1-practice * SAT essay 3-practice * MS English for unenthusiastic readers * MS advanced English for levels I, II, and III * Research paper workshop * Novel workshop * Short story writing * Flash fiction * Poetry exploration * High school American literature * Research paper and essay writing * Punctuation boot camp * Sentence construction boot camp * Paragraph development boot camp The door is open.
