Dear parents and students,
Home Room Learning (HRL) middle school and high school course registration is open. Also, sign up for in-a-flash classes, college application workshops, and SAT essay prep and practice tests, which are available anytime.
HRL provides challenging and affordable student-centered courses to complement private, public, or home school programs, to overcome geographic isolation, or to allow students a navigable classroom.
The level of instruction and personalization, and depth of course work are comparable to that of a private school; but offered online. All courses are independently designed, and individually taught by master teachers, specializing in personalizing instruction for the online learner.
Once enrolled, students log in to their courses at the HRL website. HRL uses Moodle, a virtual learning environment, to deliver online classes. The online delivery, and construction of courses allow teachers to reinvent, rethink, and re-imagine coursework in real time to respond to student abilities and interests, and even to global happenings, should the need arise, as the semester unfolds.
Courses are structured to offer a lesson for each day of the week, Monday to Friday, excluding holidays. A student may enroll in a 15-week course, or elect to take a shorter 10-week session, or 5-week session.
One Home Room Learning teacher is assigned to each course offered. Courses are capped at ten students, so no course will exceed the 10:1 teaching ratio.
