    Hi Claudio, As I clearly mentioned over email, it was a mistake on our end to send you a quote for your recent management request. We sent you a response because you reached out with a different email address, and we did not realize it was the same person. As you know, I had informed you several weeks ago that Castle was not a good fit for your management needs. We did send you a response to your request here on Thumbtack by mistake, but indicating that we denied you service without any reason is in no way accurate.     Castle was great when I first started with them. But now my tenant is constatly agitated with them and takes them a week to resolve simple issues. Huge disconnect between management and employees so nothing gets done.

    Very frustrating working with this company. As an owner I decided to try this company out due to rave reviews. Luckily I only asked them to manage one of my properties. Short version is that the contractors that were hired by this company to do minor repairs were unprofessional, not skilled in the repairs needed, or tried to overcharge me, and in one case charge for work that was not completed. One of their plumbers gave me an estimate of $3100 for a plumbing repair. I immediately contacted a few other reputable companies in the area, one of whom fixed the problem for much less. Payed $759.00 to fix the same issue. Huge difference! Also it was difficult for me or my tenants to get a hold of them during business hours. Emails were unanswered. Not enough network of contractors to handle emergency situations. Good concept, but did not work for me.

    After a briefly conversation about my needs of renting and managing a single family home in Birmingham, Max abruptly stopped me talking because he opened the Zillow link of the house and he said: Sorry but those high end houses don't fit our program, we experienced problems in the past with high end houses so we can't do the job for you. Max why don't you write this on your website so people won't waste time with Castle if they have high end house. My house is not high end at all, in a neiborgh of Birmingham that goes for $2800 per month. It's funny how they explain their fee on their website mentioning as example a house that rents for $3000

    Hey Alberto, I'm very sorry that we weren't able to help you out with this property. Based on our past experience, we've found that Castle doesn't work well for properties that rent in the $3,000 range. We never want to close a customer unless we're confident we can deliver them extraordinary service, which is why we felt Castle wasn't a great fit for you. I'm very sorry if you feel that we wasted your time. Regarding our website, I don't see any comparison to a $3,000/mo property on our pricing page (http://entercastle.com/pricing/) or anywhere else.     I hired Castle to take care of 6 properties. 3 of which came from another Management company that was not doing their job. Castle was able to contact the previous management company to get all records and needed information transferred. I love so many things about them. Their communication is extraordinary. They are excellent on getting back to your phone calls and emails. They have great tenant screening process! Their books are in order. They pay out monthly. I have another handful of properties currently being remodeled. Once completed, Castle will be managing these properties as well.

    I talked to Max and he was very helpful and gave me great advice and I definitely will hire Castle to manage my three properties after closing. It is refreshing to find a management company with progressive thinking and whose #1 priority is assisting and helping their clients, not just charging fees for every possible issue (as many of the other companies do).

    Max was of great assistance in attempting to trace a security deposit which had gone missing from 4 previous management companies. He has also spent considerable time checking existing lease agreement and determining if current tenants are abiding by this lease while treating the property with respect.. His service is excellent, providing continual updates on his progress with any problems that are surfacing. In my opinion a 5 star service.

How did you get started doing this type of work?
We're real estate investors ourselves. When we invested in our first property, we found that quality property management in Detroit was virtually nonexistent and took on the work ourselves. What types of customers have you worked with?
We're very open to hearing from all types of customers as we think our platform offers benefits for every type of property owner. That said, our business model and our technology are uniquely structured to scale and meet the needs of investors with growing real estate portfolios.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Make sure you've done your research before signing on with any management company. The most difficult properties we have, we've inherited from other companies after the owners realized they were being mismanaged.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
Occasionally, customers are eager for quick results at the expense of sustainable fixes. Doing a job correctly often takes time and a little bit more money, but it always pays off in the end.
