FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing system is not complicated at all. As I said in a previous question, I am flexible with each individual client and the method we choose in order to accomodate their needs. I offer a fee basis, an hourly fee or a percentage. I explain thoroughly each method of billing. The client is presented with a detailed proposal of work to be performed before any work commences.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Yes, there are many local and national seminars offered to the design community to keep us updated on new products and trends. Twice a year in the spring and fall there is also furniture market in North Carolina. This is a very informational way to view new trends and to see new products in person and to meet with the sales representatives of each company.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I don't ever think there was a day I sat down and said to myself "I think I will be an interior designer". I think it was something I was destined to do. I remember, even when I was quite young, I used to create miniature rooms using small objects I found around the house like small boxes, spools of thread, buttons etc to create furniture arrangements for my Barbie dolls. It was a career I always knew I would pursue,
