Introduction: I offer a program that is systematic and easy to follow what provides very clear boundaries and expectations to your dog. I do not do gimmicks, just fair, balanced training that will last you and your dog a lifetime. I enjoy helping my customers transform the dog they have into the dog they can more fully. Due to facility space constraints and for safety reasons, I refer to and work with Canine Co Pilots of Swartz Creek on most dogs larger than 75 lbs, and any dog with aggression issues. CCP rates to apply, please reach out to them to schedule an evaluation. ****I am offering board and train services only. Private lessons are available for dogs who have previously gone through the board and train program with myself or CCP**** Boarding may be available for graduates of board and train. *quotes prices are valid for 60 days, and rates are quoted on a case by case basis.

Dog Training

Blair is absolutely a dog whisper. We have a mini Australian Shepherd who was great with our family but very protective and afraid of everything. We had problems with Maize snarling and nipping. With having a 6 year old we were afraid that we would have to rehome him to a family with no children. But Blair safed us. Maize doesn’t snarl or nip when he sees people. He also listens and stays where you tell him!!! It is absolutely amazing the difference in our dog. The groomer was so impressed with how he was when he came back. The dog who always wanted to nip and growl at her. Just wanted her to love on him and just sat and did what she needed him todo!! We were also able to have people come over and he didn’t bark uncontrollably and try to attack them. We were also so impressed with the take home training tools and paper that she gave us. She left no room for us to mess up how far he has come. So happy and blessed that we found Blair. She truly was a blessing to our family.

Dog Training

She did lots of work with my dog and it all seemed to have gone really well. I am very happy with the work she did for my dog and she gave very clear instructions on the homework we have to do to make her even better and keep up on her training.

Dog Training

When I sent my 2 year old hound mix, Monte, to the 4 week training, we were at our wits end. We have had a couple of trainers before, and I was beginning to worry that there was no hope- I was starting to fear that we would need to rehome him. The last thing that I wanted to do was give up on my dog, when nobody else had given him a chance, either. Although an incredibly sweet boy, Monte was virtually unable to be walked, climbed fences, bolted from open doors, and barked NONSTOP in the car, and in the house. We could barely make the short walk around the block before he nearly yanked my arm off, lunging and pulling at the site of another dog, a human, or god forbid- a squirrel. I had no clue what to expect. I was incredibly worried that I had spent a thousand dollars, as a rather broke college student, for my dog to return the same. Blair FAR exceeded any expectations that I had. When Monte returned home, something amazing happened- he wasn't barking in the backseat of her car, even with our other dog standing front and center on the porch. He sat on first command. He wasn't howling at the neighbours, or lunging toward the nearby tree filled with birds. Today, we can walk him, socialise with other dogs, and he has free reign of the house without constant supervision in fear that he'll attack the windows when somebody walks by. He is the same, sweet, loving Monte that I sent to training- but now, we exist in harmony. I am so beyond thankful that we reached out to Blair, and i'm convinced that she is nothing short of a miracle worker.

Dog Training

Blair did an amazing job with our dog, Lucy! It's amazing the difference in her after only 4 weeks. I was hesitant about the cost but feel it was well worth it. I also like that I can still contact Blair with any questions I have after the fact. It's great to have Lucy home and to have the stress gone from the little ill behaviors that she was showing as a two-year-old. Thank you, Blair!

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

I offer a 10% discount on services for military veterans, and a multi dog discount for board and train programs.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I like to get an initial consult from the owners via phone or email to go over the behaviors they are struggling with. That will enable me to give you a more definitive quote. Board and train services are a 4-week long commitment and which your dog stays at my home full-time. It includes a private lesson upon conclusion of the four week, as well as phone/text/email support.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I grew up around a variety of dogs, between my father being a K9 Officer for a number of years, and my mother breeding and showing Belgian Malanois. A few years back, I got dogs of my own. I started by showing my Mini Aussie and German Shepherd in a variety of AKC and UKC. About a year ago, I retired Violet and Raven and I added another wonderful German Shepherd to start training and competing in schutzhund/IPG, and then a few months ago, I added a puppy to the pack too. Working schutzhund dogs has given me a lot more clarity into the motivations behind canine aggression and defensiveness. I joined the training team at Canine Copilots in 2015, gaining valuable experience in working with a variety of dogs with a broad spectrum of training needs. I have since gone into business for myself and currently offer a board and train program. I believe that even as a professional, you never know enough to stop learning.
