Introduction: What is a Frito Pie? Shocking, yes! A Frito Pie is not actually a pie but the delicious treat that your taste buds have been yearning for. The classic taste of Frito chips mixed with the perfect blend of homemade chilli, sour cream, and shredded cheese to top it off. This treat has been around since the 1960's and is still a family favorite. We also cater pulled pork sandwiches, hot dogs, candy skewers (candy on a skewer stick) and fruit skewers. The youth entrepreneurship program is a partnership between the Learning Disabilities Association of Lambton County and the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade through the Youth Entrepreneur Division. Our goal is to provide local youths the opportunity to prosper and learn valuable entrepreneurial skills that raises self-confidence and to open new doors. Frito Pies & More is a concession-stand type atmosphere that caters to local businesses and popular events such as Art Walk and Kid's Fun Fest. Participants are involved in business plan development, product pricing, developing sales strategies, scheduling, managing logistics and inventory, overseeing financial management, and ensuring quality control. Participants are in control of their own wage potential through profit sharing. Within this three month period there are eight entrepreneurial training sessions that are mentored by local entrepreneur successes.
