I have been taking voice lessons from Dr. Taylor for a couple of years now. I continue to take lessons weekly. I have started this journey at an older age (I'm a senior citizen), having to unlearn old habits and learn new. Dr. Taylor has been very patient and gentle yet persistent in helping me discover my true voice and learn how to use it to sing well. He continues to encourage me and has helped me prepare for a few solo performances which have also helped me grow in my singing ability. I have heard him work with fellow students upon occasion and he has used the same approach with much success. He has also stated that he continues to grow and learn from his students to know what is the best avenue to help each student, realizing that each individual visualizes and learns in their own unique way. In the future I hope that the students will agree to recitals.

About

I believe that every lesson should be fun and comfortable! Depending on the students age and skill level, I pick out books that work for each student, and also ask the student to bring in a piece that they want to work on. Maybe we can learn that new radio hit or the oldie but a goodie that you've been wanting to learn for years! However, learning from books or internet videos alone do not offer the kind of one on one attention students need while learning an instrument.

David gives me helpful tips to correct things about my singing technique and make them better. He has helped me tremendously with my foreign language songs. He finds ways to explain how he would like me to sing something differently and how it would help make me sound better, in a way that makes sense to me. He is also very friendly, experienced and very approachable. I like hearing him tell me about his time in performances. I enjoy having voice lessons with David very much.

Lisa has taught my son flute since January 2011 with outstanding results. Then, he was a 9 year old boy who had never been introduced to playing or reading music before. He now plays exceptionally well - playing at our church and in a local advanced band. She has coached our whole family through the basics, is in tune with his learning style and professional in every way.

I took voice lessons with Jessica consistently for three or four years, and saw her whenever I was in town up until she moved out of Chicago. She is far and away the best voice teacher I have ever had; her focus on healthy technique has given me a solid classical training that all my professors at school are impressed with. She also consistently went out of her way to help me with audition prep and vocal competitions in addition to accompanying me for a number of self-taped auditions. She was just as much my vocal coach as she was my voice teacher, in addition to being a good friend. I had her for voice, but she is an outstanding piano player and I have no doubt she is just as amazing a piano teacher as she is a voice teacher. I would recommend her to anyone; you can't go wrong with Jessica Coe.

About

I am a musician who is currently studying at Western Michigan University. I have ten years of experience as both an oboist and a guitarist and about five years as a vocalist. My specialty is teaching not only guitar, but also the underlying theory behind playing guitar, which allows my students to apply their skills elsewhere, such as in piano or instruments found in the band and orchestra. I mostly work with beginners, although I am willing to work with people of all skill levels, assuming I believe that I can help them. Upon contacting me, I will work out a time for a short (free) interview in which we can discuss goals and playing abilities and how I can best suit your needs or the needs of your child. If you have any questions at all, feel free to get in contact with me.
