Josh has a very warm, inviting and professional personality. I was scared to death of taking singing lessons but I decided to face my fears and just do it. Josh made the environment very comfortable. He was very patient, not judgmental, very informative. He helped me establish goals with my lessons and I could not be more excited to see where this journey takes me. Thanks again Josh!
I loved the musical teacher she was such a sweetheart it was amazing. Although I would say that it's kinda pricey for singing lessons but oh well that's what happens when you decide to take them.
I am taking voice lessons with a focus on musical theater from CJ. He is prompt and comes to my home (outstanding in the winter). He is talented, experienced and personable and I look forward to my lessons!
We gave my Dad Jazz guitar lessons for Christmas. He is an experienced amateur guitar player who is 51 yr old and wants to take his playing to the next level. He is an engineer that needs to feed his creative side. He said it was the best gift ever! Thanks for all of your help!
Vanessa was my piano teacher as a child, and I wouldn't think of going anywhere else for my child's piano lessons!
My daughter loved her trial lesson for voice. She felt very engaged with Ms. Rebecca. Place is very warm and child friendly.
Chynna is a really great teacher who has a wide knowledge of voice technique and repertoire. Before starting lessons, I had been singing for several years, both classical and non-classical, but my lack of formal training was becoming an issue. Within weeks, Chynna helped me to put in place a foundation for good singing habits. She has a talent for clearly explaining how to build correct vocal technique, and I highly recommend her lessons for anyone who wants to take their singing further.
Kara is an excellent piano teacher to my nine year old. She knows how to bring out the best in her, how to keep her engaged and challenged, and she will modify her curriculum and teaching techniques to suit your child. We are thrilled with our daughters progress and confidence, and that is thanks to Kara.
Great experience 😊
I am a Detroit-based singer/songwriter/arranger and producer. I've been teaching voice since high school where I began directing a 70-voice choir and singing in a traveling gospel group w/a fully-appointed band. Since then, I have been teaching others how to sing, as individual performers and in a group setting. Though my primary focus is working with choirs and praise teams, in a church setting, I also currently provide vocal instruction to individuals, groups/ensembles/praise teams, and choirs, covering areas such as: learning to sing melodies, learning to sing in harmony (from basic to complex), learning how to interpret songs/lyrics and to connect with an audience, learning how to sing ad-libs, learning how to perform duets and how to use proper placement of ad-libs. Proper breathing technique, rhythm, conducting/directing and working with musicians in a choir setting are also taught.
We offer music for all occasions. We provide piano, organ, vocal, and saxophone lessons. We also do piano tuning, organ repair, and instruments repair. We have a five-piece band.
I help people free their own voices and release the constriction that blocks expression. I have had students on both American Idol and The Voice. I work with every level of singer, the beginner from 8 years old to 70 and everyone in-between.
I give lesson to all ages and levels for piano, voice, music theory and wind instruments. I am a licensed teacher for K-12 music with a bachelor's degree.
I provide home-study music instruction. Learn to play piano and guitar. I also provide vocal and demo production for songwriters and starting artists. I have 40 years of experience in performing, songwriting and live performances as well as full-service recording.
I am providing Metropolitan Detroit with expert private and formal vocal and instrumental music education services.
My name is Anne and in 2008 I received my Bachelor's Degree in Music Education with a Vocal Emphasis from Oakland University in Rochester, MI. I have taught privately for four years. I hope to use my experience with performing solos and singing in a variety of ensembles and well as my knowledge of vocal technique, music theory, ear training and piano to best aid my students in improving their voices or beginning their piano study. I also hope to use my experience as a voice coach and my understanding of learning theories to best teach each individual. I have trained under some of the most prominent names in the metro-Detroit area, many of whom have performed around the world in opera and musical theatre productions. I have also performed in productions throughout the metro-Detroit area. I use many of the same methods that my voice teachers used on me, and that have allowed me to grow into a professional singer. I teach a classical method of vocal technique. The classical method is the foundation. It is up to the individual just how he or she would like to build on it. However, I have experience with a wide variety of genres, besides classical, and would be happy to impart this knowledge to my students. My goal is to provide high quality instruction to students of all ages in order to help them express themselves musically to the best of their ability. Voice: I am a kind and welcoming teacher! I understand that everyone's voice is personal and unique. I strive to bring out the best that your voice has to offer. I like to create a comfortable, but on task environment for my students. This is so that they will free to share their most precious instrument with me: their voice. I understand that students of voice need continued support to develop the vocal mechanism. The first lesson is not an audition, but a 'getting to know you' session. After completing some paperwork, we will get you started with what you came to me for- singing. On this first lesson we simply do a few vocal warm up exercises. This is so that I can get a feel for your voice and so that I will be able to create a personalized program tailored to your vocal needs. I may also ask you to sing a song that you already know- such as Jingle Bells- in both high and low keys so that I can get a sense of what songs would best suit your voice. Following this, if there is a song that you have worked on in your past singing experience, I would encourage you to bring it to this first lesson so that I can get even more of an understanding of where you are at vocally. Aside from the first day, the usual curriculum consists of theory, warm-ups, sight-reading, and repertoire. Music Theory is the study of music notation and the rules which govern composer techniques. Depending on the age and experience of the student, they will receive a theory book from which they will do lessons independently. We check these pages and go over any questions the student has at the beginning of the lesson. This is like the students music homework. Warm-ups are simple voice exercises that serve multiple purposes. The first is what the name implies: to warm up your voice. Much like when you warm up your muscles before exercising, your voice also needs to be warmed up. Second, this is a perfect opportunity to work on breathing, posture, tone and resonance, that you can then apply to all music you sing. Sight-reading is learning how to read music through the vocal instrument. With my help, I will teach you to sing music on a page just by looking at and understanding the musical notes. This is essential for singing. This helps to develop the ear and also allows you to understand the notes that are above the words that you are singing. My goal with this is that you will come to not need me at all- that you will be able to look at a piece of music and be able to sing it, with out any professional having to play or sing it for you. That being said, the majority of your lesson will be spent on learning actual music! As stated before, I teach a classical foundation. Many students find classical music to be more taxing when it comes to technique, which is what makes these songs perfect for improving technique. For those who wish to concentrate on musical theatre, we often concentrate our efforts equally on musical theatre and classical. For those who want to do popular styles, we usually do throw in a song of the students choosing every few weeks. This could be any genre- pop, jazz, rock, r&b. As you progress we will move to more challenging or unfamiliar repertoire. It is through new, interesting repertoire, that you will not only improve your voice, but also expand your horizons as you explore and perform new genres that you may not be familiar with. Piano: I will start you off with different method books depending on age and interests. I will insure that you get experience with composition, improvisation and listening along with theory, technique and performance training. I will also give you ample opportunities to perform through contests and community events, if you chose to do so. I hope that you will consider voice or piano lessons for yourself or for a family member or friend. I tailor lessons to individual students and will make them fun and worthwhile.
I love dance I have plenty of experience and I'm willing to show those who are dedicated to dance my special moves!

I, and my associates are all professional musicians, performers and artists of various talents. Personally, I have toured the U.S., Canada and Bermuda, performed on Cruise Ships and been offered contracts to perform on Broadway and record for Geffen records. I also hold a Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do and taught music in a local private elementary school. I have performed with several famous artists, and I know the value of learning how to do things properly from the beginning, before developing habits that will slow you down in the future.
I'm extremely patient and outgoing! I started teaching privately in June '17, and have crafted my pedagogy since but always kept a student-center philosophy. My experience with various age groups, instruments, and types of students means a large "tool-box" of skills by which to teach.
