We needed an almost immediate turn around time on the start/finish of this project and with only a couple days advance notice they were able to work us in. We had two painters for two and a half days and they did an amazing job and were a joy to have around. Very satisfied with the cost, including the adjustments we needed to make for some unique issues with our project. Would definitely use them again and have already recommended them to a friend looking for a reliable company to work with.
Nick has been such a pleasure to work with. He came to our home twice, once for tree trimming and the other to help us haul away large pieces of wood and a water heater. Not only have his prices been far more competitive than any other quotes we have received, but his responsiveness and professionalism is off the chart. We would HIGHLY recommend Nick's company to anyone who needs any sort of work done. Upon meeting him, you can tell he is just a hardworking and honest person who gets the job done well. He goes above and beyond to make sure that all customers are pleased! We are definitely company loyalists and love when we find one that does a great job and simply wants to help people through superior service.
Rose was very thorough and friendly. She was even able to get a difficult stain out of our tile flooring in the kitchen. Everything was clean and pristine when she left!
Excellent job with fence repair...my neighbor saw the quality and came up with three jobs that he needed done..Will use Richard again!!
We are very pleased with the repair work that Tom and crew from Handyman Connection of Grand Rapids provided. We needed a 9 foot piece of aluminum siding replaced on the upper section of our house. The tricky thing about this repair was that the damaged siding was in a very hard-to-reach spot, immediately above the glass panel ceiling of our 4 Season Room. So what would normally be a pretty straightforward job became much more challenging due simply to accessibility. We found that siding companies generally did not want to offer a realistic repair option. Instead, they wanted to take off the whole section of aluminum siding on that side of the house and replace it all. That is not a practical solution, and the cost would have been ridiculous. When I talked to Tom about options for repairing rather than complete replacement, he was very thoughtful in possible options. After giving it much thought as to how to access the repair location, he came up with an innovative yet simple approach to reaching the damaged siding so he could remove the piece and replace it with a new section. The guys did a fantastic job color matching the new piece to our 20+ year old existing siding. Tom was very skilled in cutting the new piece to match the contour of the existing piece and he got the one new 9 ft. section installed below the remaining pieces, which is pretty tricky with aluminum siding (which doesn’t bend and snap into place in a repair like vinyl does). With the new piece in place, it is virtually undetectable from the old, original pieces! We are completely satisfied with the aesthetics and the new piece is secure – no more having the siding flapping around in the wind! Tom charged a very reasonable price for this repair. We can’t be more happy with our experience with Handyman Connection GR. We highly recommend them for home related repairs. Thanks Tom!
My experience with Straight Line Fence has been, overall, mostly positive. Site Visit: Matt Fortuna, one of the owners, came out to my house at the pre-arranged time. Although he was around 15 minutes late from the end-time of the window, I understood as this company does significantly more business than other companies (and for good reason - they are good at what they do). Matt walked me through various options as well as took measurements in what appeared to be a more accurate way than the 4 other contractors I had visit. He took the time to answer all of my questions very thoroughly on how he would install everything and was very organized. Estimate: Matt went back and forth with me and was more than patient when dealing with my many questions. I realize I'm probably over-the-top detail oriented and need everything spelled out in detail on the proposed project estimate, but he was more than willing to answer all of my questions without being irritated or annoyed in the slightest. When I signed the estimate, I had an estimated start date within the next two business days for the project. Although Matt's estimate came in at the highest of the 4 other contractors, it was clear that he knew his stuff (including code requirements, etc). Further, his company specializes in fence builds where the other contractors did not, so I felt most comfortable spending the money to get the job done right. Ultimately, the total cost of the estimate matched exactly what I ended up paying. They do the standard 1/2 up front, 1/2 upon completion. No BS where you need to pay for material cost + 1/2 of labor upfront. Just 1/2 total cost of the estimate. Fence Build: I went with a vinyl fence as they are overall less maintenance. Matt's team was out within 2 - 2.5 weeks to install the fence, and it took about 2 days for them to put up around 175 feet of fencing. Overall, I'm extremely pleased with the quality of construction and the materials used. I do believe Matt's team did a better job from what I would have otherwise experienced if I went with a different contractor. Matt and I discussed some ancillary work that needed to be done before the fence project, but this was not included in the invoice and I was not told I'd be charged for it. While Straight Line did bring this up that I would be charged, once I made the point that we did discuss this, they were more than willing to stick to our original estimate. I think the important thing with that is that those things can sometimes happen, but they were willing to make it right. Communication: The company is very busy. That much is apparent. However, whenever I emailed them I always had a response or a call within 24 hours as is standard. There is a reason they do a lot of business -- they are good at what they do and do not leave you disappointed. Ultimately, I highly recommend Matt and the rest of the Straight Line Fence crew. They did a superb job and the fence looks better than I expected.
We had 2 contractors before Martin and they both kept pushing our job out further and further. I reached out here, Martin got in contact with me same day, came out that night, and started the next morning. He did great work, VERY affordable, showed up every day, and accomplished our entire list of things we had requested within a week. I have already recommended him to family, and I would recommend him to you as well. We will be using him again for sure.
Jim repaired some windows that we needed done right away for an inpection. He came out right away and quoted the work and then squeezed it is his busy schedule and got it done. Passed inspection!
We had our two garage doors replaced and a new vent area made in the basement for the dryer. He did an excellent job replacing our old doors including concrete work. The garage was spotless when he was done and he saved us money on the better quality doors. The vent area was also very nicely done. We had someone try to break in after new doors were placed and he came over and repaired the door at no cost, thats the kind of service everyone appreciates. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for quality work.
Doug did a great job preparing my property for sale. He cleaned it from top to bottom and did extensive work cleaning up the yard and plantings. He exceeded my expectations by taking the time to replant things to improve the curb appeal. The interior was cleaned to like-new condition. Throughout the whole process Doug kept in contact and let me know how the work was progressing.
