Introduction: Steven A. Freeman is a former 10 year veteran Police Officer and Detective with the Lansing Township Police Department. He is all too familiar with Police investigations. He has practiced Criminal Defense Law exclusively since 1991 and has represented clients in every county of Michigan's lower peninsula. His practice is focused primarily on Sex Crimes, including Criminal Sexual Conduct, but he is most capable of representing clients charged with other serious felony offenses. He has argued cases before the Michigan Court of Appeals and the Michigan Supreme Court, and he has appeared in both State and Federal Courts.

Prospective new clients are offered a choice between payment at an hourly rate or on a flat fee basis.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Initial new client contact is typically by telephone. I will ask several questions in order to determine the scope of the situation, and if the prospective client agrees, I am willing to meet with the client in order to discuss the matter more thoroughly and for both of us to decide whether we are well suited for each other going forward. Fees are discussed and a contract entered into.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Former 10 year veteran Police Officer and Detective; graduate of the Thomas M. Cooley Law School and have practiced Criminal Law Defense exclusively for the past 30 years.
