- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I had worked for many years in the Event Planning area, both non-profit and for profit and I would occasionally see wedding parties at the same venues that we would have functions at, one of the other vendors that I regularly work with and I talked about how to make Weddings, Engagements, and family events more seemless. Thus, Events with Moxy. It works very similar to the structure we are used to, managing a budget and providing services. Now I get to service the clients I choose on the happiest day of their lives!
- What types of customers have you worked with?
My most common request is Day of Service, I provide planning meetings prior to the rehearsal and wedding date to create a agenda for your day. We will review vendors, contracts and VIP's. I assist you on both rehearsal and wedding days. The goal is to have one point of contact for all services, so you are left to focus on your day. All details are taken care of ahead of time and you have a person for things that come up for people to go to, that isn't you or your partner. You just get to enjoy your special day!
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Ask for referrals, check on reviews. I have seen people hire people because of a add in a magazines or a picture they really liked, and their vision was not achieved. I still think that people are the best indicators of whether or not you will be a good fit with someone. You are intrusting one of the most important days to this person, make sure that you are going to agree on what the vision is and what the best way to get there is. Communication is what makes or breaks your relationship, with all vendors. Make sure you have it!
