Immediately we saw results! What are teaching is working.Nov 28, 2015Verified
We attended some classes at MDT with Michael and Wendy in the summer of 2014. Our dog Casey has made leaps and bounds improvements in his behavior thanks to MDT!Oct 15, 2014
Watching your dog master a command that you'd been working for five months in FIVE MINUTES...priceless.That is when you know you are in the presence of someone's professional.I first brought TJ to Mike at MDT as a rambunctious ill-mannered 10 month 90 lb German Shepherd. After taking a remote manners class, it was nice to be able to take him for walks and have friends over without worrying about someone getting knocked over. We came back to do the day camp to fine tune him and teach him to be more social with other dogs. In one week he has done a 180° turn and actually played with other dogs. I still can't believe the pictures! Meet Mike or Wendy or Kylie (or any of their wonderful trainers) and you will understand why we wouldn't take our big guy anywhere else.Oct 15, 2014
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?Absolutely, all the time. Though it becomes harder to find quality continuing education to attend as most programs are geared for the beginner and not the advanced trainer.
- How did you get started doing this type of work? When I was a teenager, I was a member of Law Enforcement Explorers (a division of the Boy Scouts for teens who are thinking about entering that specified career) and my mentor was a Police K9 Officer. I was able to lay tracks for my mentor's dog to find me and I was hooked. After college, I became employed as a Police K9 Handler myself From there, I had the opportunity to learn about general and specialized dog training from many expert trainers from across the country that helped me to develop my own training style and philosophy. I also trained a Search and Rescue K9 Team as well as began specializing working with fearful / aggressive dogs to manage and rehab them to be less fearful and aggressive.
- What types of customers have you worked with? Our most popular training programs include are in order: 1. Board and Train 2. Day School 3. Private Lessons 4. In Home Lessons 5. Group classes 6. Day Care and Boarding
