Sit Means Sit, Metro Detroit is amazing. Amy (and Nick) runs a fabulous training service. Everyone is friendly, knowledgeable and passionate about the work they do. The trainers are something to behold. They truly have a gift with dogs, and people alike. I've been to group class with 20 or so dogs and was still able to receive individual attention. I adopted a 4-year old Black & Tan Coon Hound/Great Dane mix and was rather scared that I might not be able to handle him in social settings because of his size. Luckily he was a fairly well-behaved dog when I adopted him, but he was in no way perfect. He took me for a kite ride across a neighbor's yard trying to chase a cat. It was then that I realized I needed help and called around. I took advantage of the at-home free demo and I was sold. I liked their attention-based training philosophy. It is a very positive approach and really helps reinforce the positive bond between dog and human. It also didn't hurt that from the moment the trainer walked up the driveway my dog was smitten with him. After one in-home session I was able to take him for a walk without fear. After two in-home sessions I was able to have him off-leash. I highly recommend Sit Means Sit, Metro Detroit. Your dog deserves it!

I don't even have words for how fantastic Clever Canine is. I am so incredibly grateful to them, they've changed everything about the way I communicate with my dogs. I have three big pups, all 3 or younger, and each with A LOT of personality. Mandy, Lizzie, and Emma had my deaf Australian Shepherd (who used to be afraid of people) eating out of their hand within minutes, even letting Emma scratch him on the head. All three are incredibly knowledgeable on obedience training, and my Anatolian Shepherd and Lab are jumping out of the car to see them. Mandy is an expert, and a wealth of knowledge for anyone who wants to learn. She goes out of her way to make scheduling work, takes a sincere interest in getting to know your dogs, and takes the time to create a plan that will work for YOU, no cookie cutter answers. They are even willing to take dogs into their own home for stay and train, then carefully go through all of the new commands and routines your dog has become accustomed to once they're done. I am confident she can solve any problem I'm having, including some dog aggression to others not in the pack. Emma is an Aussie whisperer, I COULD NOT believe he was sitting at her feet and looking her in the eyes within a few minutes of walking in the door. Lizzie is master of agility training, in just one session she had my dog through half of the obstacles. These are professionals, people, with kind hearts and sincere resolve to help you fix whatever problem you may have, for both you and your dog. The service they provide is unparalleled, and I couldn't be happier I went with my instincts on a family-run business instead of a chain. I will be working with them as long as I have any questions (they also do nose work and other sports). I am so, so grateful to have found Clever Canine. They saved my sanity with my dogs and are helping us ENJOY each other's company while constantly learning and advancing. Thank you so much for your time, team. I recommend them to everyone I know.

Patty is a fantastic dog trainer. She's extremely professional and personable. She was able to answer all of our questions and teach us useful techniques to train our dogs. While it's up to us to use those techniques regularly, Patty's given us the tools we need. We look forward to continuing working with her and would recommend her to anyone looking for a dog trainer!

Before I contacted K9AdvantEDGE I was at my wits end with my family dog. She was having such issues focusing and following commands. After her 2 week board and train with Tyler and Esther, Rooney was a completely different dog. I'm so pleased with the amount the two of them taught her. She is now one of the best behaving dogs in our neighborhood! If I ever get another dog they are the trainers I will be going back to!

Watching your dog master a command that you'd been working for five months in FIVE MINUTES...priceless.That is when you know you are in the presence of someone's professional.I first brought TJ to Mike at MDT as a rambunctious ill-mannered 10 month 90 lb German Shepherd. After taking a remote manners class, it was nice to be able to take him for walks and have friends over without worrying about someone getting knocked over. We came back to do the day camp to fine tune him and teach him to be more social with other dogs. In one week he has done a 180° turn and actually played with other dogs. I still can't believe the pictures! Meet Mike or Wendy or Kylie (or any of their wonderful trainers) and you will understand why we wouldn't take our big guy anywhere else.

I've been having trouble with my dog pulling on the leash. Tyler showed me some tricks & gave me some great tips to keep her by my side on a loose leash. Not only was he great with my dog, but he was very nice & patient as he was helping me work towards a more well behaved dog. I highly recommend him.

    About

Every dog that comes to me I do not give up on! No matter how easy or hard a dog is to train, I always do me best, keep my calm, and in the end I will succeed.

    About

With the exception of two years in college, I've had dogs my whole life long, so it is second-nature to me to live with, care for, and train them. I've been through "obedience," "puppy school," etc. classes, with my own dogs, so I've been exposed to a the techniques used by a number of trainers. I'd call myself eclectic in my training approach, though I think that dogs, like people, require individualized approaches. In general, I think that dogs (again, like people) perform best when strong motivators are used to elicit desired behaviors.
