Laura is absolutely the real deal, I couldn't be happier with my reiki treatment and my reading that she gave me when her spirit guides visited us in my session! Laura is very open and genuine, I got nothing but good vibes as soon as I stepped foot into her office. I previously was sick for a long period of time, and she correctly pointed out all of my ailments and physical imbalances without me telling her anything. She helped align my chakras and I could literally feel the reiki treatment pulling the negative energy out, it was truly an amazing experience. She also was able to tell me more about many of my family members - both alive and deceased - with astonishing accuracy. She knew the age of my brother and his name, among many many other things about my grandparents, fiance, and aunts/uncles. I would definitely recommend Laura if you are interested in exploring any of the above things I mentioned - thank you again Laura!

I waited a while to write this review. I simply love working with Pete. He's knowledgeable, professional, personable. He's a smart motivator, and somehow, even when I am not feeling my best to work out, when I train with him, I forget about it. There is also one quality not to overlook: he's super punctual, or communicates, and very reliable (this kind of reliability on a consistent basis i find rare). He's great whether you want to get in shape, take it to the higher level, or just have a smart trainer and fitness partner to give you extra help. I needed a specific help when I turned to Pete, and I am seeing the results and looking forward to more.

David is awesome! He gave me a thorough fitness assessment and then provided an exercise regimen designed specifically to meet my needs -- I wanted bodyweight exercises only, that could be easily done in my basement with the small amount of equipment I have. The beauty part is that the way David recommended me to exercise, I never get overly sore because I don't do a lot of reps of any one exercise, and I never get bored because he gave me a huge selection of exercises for each section of the body. After just a couple weeks I can already feel myself getting stronger, and I think I might be able to sustain this! He also advised me on nutrition. He's a pleasure to work with and he's very affordable! Highly recommended.

My friends actually call me a “Recovering Engineer” as I started out as an engineer with an MBA, and now work as an Energy Worker and Massage Therapist. When I left my corporate life to work in the alternative healing realm, I really wasn’t familiar with how to run a small business. You may have heard the saying, “When the student is ready, the teacher will appear”. So, when I was introduced to Cedric in early 2003, he became my business coach. Cedric has such a diverse background, he is very knowledgeable, has a great energy, is so positive and such an awesome motivator. One of the biggest benefits I gain from his individual coaching sessions is how I feel after working with him. I literally walk out of his office feeling as though I can accomplish anything and change the world. So, if you are interested in: * being motivated * making positive changes, and * taking your business to the next level contact Cedric at McSween Coaching.

Mr. Meyer teaches Physical Education 2000-Wellness-Focus Fitness at Macomb Community College. I am very impressed with him as a professor and with his class as a whole. He is extremely knowledgeable in exercise sciences, wellness as well as all other areas of general health. Ken Meyer has truly gone above and beyond to motivate, educate and inspire his students. He has been an inspiration to me and all other classmates as he has taught and modeled for us how to live healthier and overall better lives. He maintains a positive attitude, possesses solid work ethic and encourages his students to do the same. He is pleasant, reliable, well-rounded and always willing to answer any questions in a timely manner. His quality of teaching has by far exceeded my expectations. He sets the standards high for all other professors at Macomb Community College. I can honestly not say enough positive things about Mr. Meyer as he has been a complete pleasure to work with and an outstanding professor.

I have never written an online review before, but after reading Leslie G.'s comments, I just had to speak up. I have been working with Brent for more than three years and can't recommend him highly enough. He is knowledgeable, professional and very, very good at what he does. He has helped me recalibrate my body completely. I am stronger, have no pain, and feel better than I ever have. Brent is very clear about his credentials: A BS in Kinesiology and Exercise Science from Michigan State University, and certifications in personal training, senior fitness, nutrition and sports nutrition. Certificates are posted in his studio. But I don't imagine Leslie saw those certificates, because I'm sure she never stepped foot in the studio. How do I know that? The $70 per-hour fee is for clients who come to him. If you ask Brent to come to your home, the higher fee applies. When I began working with Brent, he made it very clear that everything he does is tailored completely to the individual under one-on-one supervision. No mirrors, no machines, no pushing to the point of pain. He has developed his own, proprietary method that is very different from what you would find from a typical personal trainer in a gym. His overarching concern is wellness and functionality, calibrating your body so the muscles work properly and are aligned correctly. Body image and weight loss are secondary. His methodology is sound and effective. Quick to debunk the latest fitness trends, Brent will give you complete, academic explanations about everything he does if you ask him. I am a curious journalist so I always ask, and that is why I know exactly why he recommends heat-only for muscle soreness. Heat, I have learned from Brent, increases blood flow and nutrient exchange, promoting healing. Ice is used to reduce swelling and dampen pain. This can be warranted when you have a major injury and swelling, but ice will also prevent blood flow and the corresponding nutrient exchange, which makes healing take longer. I am quite sure that if Leslie is this unhappy after only three weeks, she was looking for something different than what Brent provides. And that is fair enough. I just want to make sure that other people who are looking for a knowledgeable, effective trainer don't discount Brent based on one malicious review.

Wendy was instrumental in preparing me for interviews for an executive management position. She is patient, a great listener and has a keen sense to lock in on my strengths and weaknesses in terms of how I was presenting myself in the interview process. Although I was very qualified for the positions, I needed to effectively demonstrate that to my interviewers. As soon as I understood how to best present myself, I was more focused, confident and at ease during my interviews. Wendy knew exactly what I needed to do "my homework" on so I was very prepared. In the upcoming interviews for 2 different companies, the results spoke for themselves. I had immediate responses for follow up interviews with both organizations and ultimately had to choose which one to go with as both made me offers! Working with Wendy was a very different experience for me as a seasoned professional as I had never been "coached" for interviewing before. But I learned so much more about myself through working with Wendy and I'm so grateful for making that investment with her.

Catalina clearly has a great affinity towards coaching, and knows exactly how to unlock the unseen potential of her clients. Her detail-oriented but emphatic approach to the process allows her to get to know a person deeply enough in a short amount of time in order to refine an uncover potential and revitalize their personal profile, it is very admirable. Catalina approaches each coaching session honestly and thoughtfully, allowing the clients to consider the realities of their situation in a entirely different light. I personally consider Catalina's coaching style very helpful , as she enables me to delve deeply into my career situation or my past experiences, improving my thinking process and lack of confidence . She was able to give me the gift of self- awareness and modify behaviors into attaining specific goals. I cannot thank Catalina enough and I recommend her to everyone.

I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed my initial appointment. The treatment was relaxing and gave me tools I could take with me after the session was over. I especially appreciate the recording that was provided to me after the treatment was over. It's obvious Tim cares about his patients, he's so attentive and professional. If you've been thinking about getting hypnosis - try Happiness Now.

About

I offer the following services: project management, event planning, life coaching and volunteer management. I can do anything! What and how can I be of service to you?

About

I offer full-service career campaign services from identifying what you have to offer the world, to putting your marketing materials together, to strategizing an effective search experience. My clients have branded me a best friend, a mom, and a drill sergeant, all wrapped up in one individual. Helene L. writes: Jane served as my career coach long before the term was invented. She genuinely cares about the success of her clients and friends, and her no-nonsense, can-do attitude motivate you to set goals, create a strategy to achieve them, overcome your inertia, and get out there and make things happen! I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a deeply knowledgeable, dedicated, well-connected resource to help them find the courage and develop the tools to explore new possibilities. And from David R: When I first contacted Coach Jane, I had just been laid off after a long tenure at a large company and when a recruiter asked me, what do you want to do? I had no answer. Well, I don't have that problem anymore. Coach Jane's guidance and support helped me to identify what it was I was looking for in a career and, more importantly, what I was looking for in an employer. Not only did Jane help me figure out what I wanted to do with my life but she also helped me discover more about who I am as a person. It got to be almost like therapy. I can honestly say that what I learned in the short time working with Coach Jane will guide me through the rest of my life. And Joe continues: I went to Coach Jane during a period of transition in my life and was spinning my wheels in making a decision to stay at my current job, look to another job, self-employment, or other options. I suffered from "paralysis from analysis" and felt overwhelmed by the changes in my personal life along with these career decisions. I first believed a career coach just helps evaluate the potential job choices, but Jane's system digs deeper and provides insight into your system of values and beliefs to determine the environment, not just the job, that is the best fit. Coach Jane's methods provided a needed period of introspection and reprieve from self-imposed pressures, and ultimately identified a conflict between my values and how success had been defined by my environment. Beyond her system, you can see Coach Jane truly cares about those she coaches.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What is a life coach?

A professional, accredited life coach works with people to help them make important changes in their life, either growing in their profession or changing gears in their personal lives. They help clients turn their dreams or wishes into realistic, attainable goals. They guide people through the process of making life changes by helping them evaluate the steps they must take to reach a particular goal, then help them decide how — and whether — to take those steps in the most efficient, effective and rewarding way possible. A life coach acts as a motivator, strategist and accountability partner. Unlike a therapist, a life coach doesn’t help solve problems from your past — they’re focused on helping you move forward with new ways of acting and thinking that will help you reach your goals. Some people specialize in particular types of life coaching, including life balancing coaches, small business coaches, executive coaches and personal finance coaches. Some meet clients in person, while others hold consultations over the phone.

Regardless of which type of life coach you’re interested in, make sure the person holds an International Coach Federation (ICF) credential. There are three tiers of credentials: Associate, Professional and Master, which require coaching experience ranging from 100 hours to 2,500 hours.

How much does a life coach cost?

A life coach helps clients set and reach professional and personal goals, develop positive habits, and deal with stress. Some people meet with a life coach once or twice, while others form an ongoing professional relationship, meeting regularly in person or on the phone. The average national cost to meet with a life coach ranges from $80 to $130 an hour. Some coaches offer per-session pricing, especially for one-time meetings; expect to pay an average of $100-$125. People who want to work with a coach over a period of time to explore life transitions, career growth or lifestyle changes may be able to get discounted pricing in a package. For example, three 60-minute sessions cost an average of $300, four 60-minute sessions cost an average of $350, and four 60- to 90-minute sessions plus unlimited contact between sessions cost an average of $400. Some specific types of coaching, such as relationship or marriage coaching, cost more than standard life coaching. For instance, three 60-minute relationship coaching sessions cost an average of $500, four 60-minute sessions cost an average of $550, and six 60- to 90-minute sessions cost an average of $650 when purchased as a package. Training and experience can also affect the cost of hiring a life coach. An Associate Certified Coach, who holds a certification that requires only 60 hours of training and 100 hours of coaching experience, will charge less than a Master Certified Coach, who typically has at least 200 hours of training and 2,500 hours of coaching experience.

Why get a life coach?

People of all ages and in all careers have called in a life coach. Life coaches are accredited professionals who can help you figure out the tangible changes you can make in your life to reach your goals; they can even help you turn your dreams into goals, if you’re not sure where to go next. A life coach can also help people find their purpose in life. Life coaching clients often have an idea of what they want to do, such as help people or work with animals, but don’t know how to turn that passion into a career. A life coach can help clients work through the options to find a clear path with concrete steps that lead to an attainable goal. A life coach can also help clients make a major career change, such as starting a new business. Life coaches can help clients develop better habits that will make them more successful, acting as an accountability partner. Life coaches also often guide their clients through major transitions in life, such as a career change or other stressful situations that are made easier with guidance from a neutral third party.
