Barbara came to our house to help us with our German Shepherd. We rescued our year and a half old GS from a shelter. I'll start this review by explaining what behaviors our dog needed to work on. He would play bite, he wouldn't listen when called, and would tug on his leash NON-STOP when on a walk. He was never aggressive towards us, but he would play bite. Barbara showed us how to get our dog to make eye contact with us, she showed us a variety of training methods to practice with our dog, and she showed us how to be in control when on a walk. We saw major improvements in the dogs attitude towards us within the first session. He no longer play bites, and with all the training methods Barbara showed us our dog is on his way to becoming an extremely well behaved dog. Barbara's session was extremely informative and fun for us and for our dog. We now have a much better understanding of our dog. I highly recommend Barbara to others, she's an expert and knows what shes doing when it comes to dog training and general dog behavior.
This will be on going training for my Pup...Jessica quickly identified what was needed and saw and made me aware of some behavior issues but put me on the right track. Cant wait till the next session :-)
Anna did a wonderful job with both our dogs, 3 year old German Shepherd mix and a 12 week old lab mix. The German Shepherd had severe anxiety issues and the lab mix was a strain that was found covered in filth. Both dogs now know basic commands and more self-confidence. Plus she kept us updated the whole time and showed us what we needed to continue the training.
I don't even have words for how fantastic Clever Canine is. I am so incredibly grateful to them, they've changed everything about the way I communicate with my dogs. I have three big pups, all 3 or younger, and each with A LOT of personality. Mandy, Lizzie, and Emma had my deaf Australian Shepherd (who used to be afraid of people) eating out of their hand within minutes, even letting Emma scratch him on the head. All three are incredibly knowledgeable on obedience training, and my Anatolian Shepherd and Lab are jumping out of the car to see them. Mandy is an expert, and a wealth of knowledge for anyone who wants to learn. She goes out of her way to make scheduling work, takes a sincere interest in getting to know your dogs, and takes the time to create a plan that will work for YOU, no cookie cutter answers. They are even willing to take dogs into their own home for stay and train, then carefully go through all of the new commands and routines your dog has become accustomed to once they're done. I am confident she can solve any problem I'm having, including some dog aggression to others not in the pack. Emma is an Aussie whisperer, I COULD NOT believe he was sitting at her feet and looking her in the eyes within a few minutes of walking in the door. Lizzie is master of agility training, in just one session she had my dog through half of the obstacles. These are professionals, people, with kind hearts and sincere resolve to help you fix whatever problem you may have, for both you and your dog. The service they provide is unparalleled, and I couldn't be happier I went with my instincts on a family-run business instead of a chain. I will be working with them as long as I have any questions (they also do nose work and other sports). I am so, so grateful to have found Clever Canine. They saved my sanity with my dogs and are helping us ENJOY each other's company while constantly learning and advancing. Thank you so much for your time, team. I recommend them to everyone I know.
Patty is a fantastic dog trainer. She's extremely professional and personable. She was able to answer all of our questions and teach us useful techniques to train our dogs. While it's up to us to use those techniques regularly, Patty's given us the tools we need. We look forward to continuing working with her and would recommend her to anyone looking for a dog trainer!
Judi is a very patient, thorough teacher who gives clear instruction and demonstrations on how to teach a new puppy how to behave. The training is positive, kind, but teaches the dog who is in charge. We are looking forward to a happy, obedient labrador when Dakoda is full grown. We plan to take her to visit shut-ins and children. She is already wonderful around our 1 year old twin granddaughters. Thanks to Judi's training techniques, she is learning not to jump on people, how to walk on a loose leash, and not to play bite. I recommend Trust and Obey Pawsitive Dog Training to anyone.
We really like Marianne. She is very well educated with dog training. She listened to us carefully regarding our concerns, and set out a very doable program for us to follow. She is now our official doggie coach, and is returning this week to assess our progress, and build on the program. We are very satisfied.
Steve has been a great professional to work with throughout the training of our German Shepard. His training techniques have worked great, and has shown over the first 6 weeks of training. The results have been so successful, that we just signed a second contract for his level 2 training course. I would recommend Best of Friends Dog Training to anyone looking for an experienced dog trainer with results that work!
Joey has done an excellent job teaching me how to work with my dog. He quickly sized up with behavioral issue with Buddy and worked with me to understand what my dog needs. I would recommend Joey Luke's Dog Training without hesitation.
We hired Tony because we had a vicious German Shepherd Dog and in 1 hour Tony broke our dog's willingness to attack anything and anyone. He is now calm submissive . Tony is an excellent dog trainer we highly recommend him.Tony said Ares was his hardest case to date. Thank you Tony we love you. You are very brave!
I have tried for 6 years to get my German Shepherd to heal and lay down on command with no success at all. Blair come over and within 45 minutes had her doing all kinds of commands like, down, heal, stay and come. I am so amazed with her work and would recommend her to anybody. Great job!!!
The trainer Michelle came to my house for private training my two dogs. She is very knowledgeable and was very helpful. She was very flexible when scheduling and is very patient. I highly recommend Michelle.
Julie is very thoughtful and thorough with both us and our german shepherd...she explains her training methods clearly, and gave us constant updates while we were away. Significant improvement and looking forward to working with her again in the future.
Watching your dog master a command that you'd been working for five months in FIVE MINUTES...priceless.That is when you know you are in the presence of someone's professional.I first brought TJ to Mike at MDT as a rambunctious ill-mannered 10 month 90 lb German Shepherd. After taking a remote manners class, it was nice to be able to take him for walks and have friends over without worrying about someone getting knocked over. We came back to do the day camp to fine tune him and teach him to be more social with other dogs. In one week he has done a 180° turn and actually played with other dogs. I still can't believe the pictures! Meet Mike or Wendy or Kylie (or any of their wonderful trainers) and you will understand why we wouldn't take our big guy anywhere else.
Violet is my 4 year old/50 lb shepherd mix. She consistently proves herself to be an entergetic and intelligent dog. After we moved into an apartment about a year ago, she began showing signs of dog aggression exhibited through highly reactive behavior. Walking her became so stressful (and dangerous) that I would dread even a brief trip outside. She would jump, pull, and bark at any stimulus within view. If I was caught off guard by a lunge, I would usually end up injured or on the ground. When taking our daily walk, I would go out of my way to avoid running into other dogs/people/wildlife. After a few months, her behavior was only getting worse. Eventually, we could only take our walk if there was limited stimulus; this meant after dark. It was no way to live for my little companion. I knew we needed professional help. I searched for a trainer for weeks. None of the offers I recieved seemed to be anywhere close to what I could budget- especially if I wanted a few private lessons at home. I was terribly discouraged. I posted an ad on Thumbtack and was soon contacted by Tianna. Her offer seemed almost too good to be true! After speaking on the phone, I was filled with such hope that I practically cried tears of joy. When we met for our first lesson, I realized she was an answer to prayer. My first impression of Tianna? I felt as if I was in the company of a life long friend; she is comfortable, trustworthy, and genuine. Definitely a professional. By the end of Lesson One, I had established Alpha status and Violet heeled neatly to my side. You cannot imagine the relief I felt at the end of this first lesson. It was pure magic. Lesson One included an evaluation of Violet's behavior. Tianna gave me a "report card" based on Violet's reaction to various stimulus and provided a calender outlining our future sessions. The calender also included daily "homework assignments" and detailed behavioral instructions. If I had questions througout the week, Tianna made herself readily available via text or phone call. Tianna continued to provide the same impressive results for the duration of the course; she tailored the lessons to meet Violet's proficiency and unique style of learning. All of my expectations were met. Not only has Violet's behavior dramatically improved, but our relationship as dog and man is stronger than I ever; we have even begun to communicate through eye contact. Because of Tianna's confidence, experience, and superior training, Violet and I walk without anxiety in the light of day.
Although our dog did not suffer from any particularly severe behavior problems, as first time dog owners, we thought it was prudent to get some experience in dog training. We decided to take Hannah's "Urban Manners" class. The basic goal of the class is to be able to walk with your dog in a downtown-esque area with ease. The price was very reasonable and the information we gained from the class was INVALUABLE. Our dog learned a lot of new skills: how to automatically sit whenever we stop walking, how to walk calmly at our side, how to calmly observe scary situations and then "check-in" with us to make sure everything is okay. Us humans learned even more information. We learned positive reinforcement training. Most importantly, we learned how to read our dog's body language. I can now read even subtle nuances in our pup's behavior. For instance, my dog has several different "sits" depending on how nervous he is. We also followed up with a few private lessons to deal with some triggers that make our dog a little nervous, and Hannah was also wonderful then too. It's clear that Hannah knows what she is doing, and she is a bona fide expert in reading dog body language. We highly recommend Hannah and Longsnouts!
My initial meeting with the trainer was excellent. She was very thorough and informative. She was very timely and accommodating. I was so confident in the service that I am seriously considering upgrading my package. I will definitely recommend Pro K-9 to anyone searching for a dog trainer.
She was very informative, prompt, and knowledgable. Will continue the training as necessary.
