My friend and I have semi private lessons because my friend has Parkinson's and moves slower,is not comfortable in a regular big class. Natasha works with both of us together but still addresses our individual issues.. She is very positive in all aspects,a joy to have as an instructor. We now have class twice a week.

Nick is a natural leader who teaches through gentle guidance. I have experienced 3 events led by him: a small cocoa ceremony, a larger cocoa ceremony and a yoga class. The cocoa ceremonies helped root me with communal and individual healing and connection that filled everyone, I believe, with rejuvenation. Nick's yoga class challenged me to focus and listen to my body. I felt physically and mentally stronger, energetically lighter and more grounded afterward.
I had Emily as a teacher for a private, one hour long yoga class with me and a friend. She was a calm, informative, and understanding and welcoming teacher. She gave us both individual attention and tips for our specific needs and bodies. Emily also helped teach me more about alignment, which was super helpful since I am still new-ish to yoga.
I hired Body by Design once before and just hired them again. I wanted to lose some weight & complete the Tough Mudder event. Keegan & kathleen took me througj some real tough routines and were so encouraging when I needed them to be. They even participated in the event with me to show their support. What I like best is that they train anywhere which is so very convienent. They even did some sessions with my mom & my sister who were very happy as well. I look forward to my next round of results with them & would recomend Body by Design to anyone!

I've had the privilege of participating in Jackie's Baptiste Power yoga classes and the added benefit of a private session. If you haven't been to one of her classes you don't know what you are missing! They are some of the most intimate, fun and inspiring classes I have been to. Jackie is an amazing, genuine human being. It is impossible not to like her. She has a wealth of knowledge about yoga and the benefits and variations of each pose. She tailors each class to her students' needs and interests and ensures that every individual is safely working their "edge". Her adjustments allowed me to access postures more fully and truly deepen my practice. She is also a great motivator-- her belief (and encouragement) in your ability to push past your perceived limits is so powerful you will be amazed at what you can accomplish under her guidance. I always leave the class feeling so much more energetic, with a renewed sense of connection to my body. In addition to her gift of yoga, I have also on more than one occasion used her healthy (and yummy) recipes and eating tips! What an unbelievable gift she is sharing with the community!
Caryn Gallagher is an excellent yoga instructor. She is able to offer a diverse, interesting, challenging yet comfortable yoga class for students from beginning to advanced level. I have taken yoga from instructors in far away locations such as Abu Dhabi and throughout the U.S., and she remains consistently outstanding in comparison to others. The most fascinating aspect of her classes is that the class is never repetitive; she just has such an experienced instructor background that she is able to bring to her classes to keep them interesting and fulfilling. Thumbtack asks some specific questions, so I'm giving specific answers! :) Service: I have done yoga and physical training with Jamal. Both were great! What went well: I have never been the most athletic person and that's okay with Jamal! You have to be specific with him because he really wants you to be the best you can be. Do not be shy about any medical conditions or issues that you have in your body; the more you tell him, the more he can tailor the training to your body. I have sufferered with back issues for years and his yoga classes had me feeling AMAZING!! He also made sure the exercises I was doing did not exacerbate my back issues. What could have gone better: Jamal is going to push you, not past your limits, but probably right up to them. I am used to this because I have had other trainers, however, some people may be intimidated. A word of advice: don't be! Be honest about your limits and tell him what won't work for you. GIVE THE WORK OUTS A CHANCE (lol) but still be honest.
Darcy is an inspiring and mindful yoga teacher. I have taken a few of her classes at Red Yoga in Ann Arbor and each time I feel so great afterward. She helped me learn to stretch my back properly and work out excess tension. I highly recommend her as an instructor!
