It was a pleasure doing business with Benito at XXX Landscaping. He and one of his workers showed up on time and did a great job and his price was reasonable. I would definitely use this company again and have recommended him to a neighbor.

Handyman Tom is efficient, detailed and a great guy to work with! He is a hard worker and will not be done until you are 100% satisfied. He added 220 sq feet of wood deck to our existing old deck. We were nervous you would be able to see where the two meet but he made it look flawless, so happy with the extra outdoor living space!

I've had Matt do two projects on two separate occasions. The first was to hang a set of heavy shudders to the front of my house, which he did quickly and professionally. The second was a plumbing project that was a little more complex. In talking with Matt, he told me that working with copper was a specialty of his and it showed. He pointed out an unnecessary redundancy in my layout and saved me money on parts. He, also, noticed a slight natural gas odor and tightened the union on the hot water supply line to remove it. This wasn't even the project he was working on, but he is a conscientious worker that truly likes what he does. The plumbing job was first-rate. We told Matt that we'd have more projects for him in the spring.

Hector and his crew did an excellent job on our concrete patio. He spent time with us to get our best design layout, a stamped pattern that we love and helped us pick out colors that go well with our brick house. Hector and his crew are very hard workers that take pride in their work. I would highly recommend Hector for stamped concrete work

They also painted two of the rooms in our house! We would highly recommend them to anyone needed wood work completed as well as paint jobs. They are prompt, responsive, and trustworthy.

Corban Construction (Morne) was at the work site precisely when he said he'd be. And he worked longer than when he said he'd stop - he was concerned about getting the job (painting) done and doing it right. Morne was at the job site for 2 days. The amount of work completed in 2 days was impressive for what were very reasonable rates. Morne handled himself in a very professional manner - but was also very friendly and approachable. Very easy to work with. The work was done in an expert manner - and he worked with intensity - a relentlessness to get the job done. When we discussed one part of the job that we both were not satisfied with I listened to Morne's suggestion, agreed to it, and then his re-work came out perfectly. The work performed by Morne is worth every penny and then some - there was no down time. Also, I felt I could trust Morne to run some errands and leave him alone to continue the work while not there. Hiring Corban Construction (Morne) was clearly one of the best decisions I've ever made. As a result of his performance I've reserved time with him again to continue with additional work. It will only be a matter of time before getting a reservation with Corban Construction will be very difficult - the demand for a worker with this kind of performance and integrity this will soar.

First off, I wish they had more then 5 stars here to leave for the person I hired to do my cement work, Curtis, and his farther answered my request for some repair & replacement work for cement I needed done at my home. They were here on time as promised, they did more then excellent work, that I needed done, and also some extra work or a second job, I am going to say, without trying to charge me for a repair on a outside light pole in my front yard. The price they sent me for the work I needed done was right on, no extra charge for anything, the work was outstanding, the price was excellent, the clean up when finished was excellent. They made it very clear, that they will not be finished, until I was 100% satisfied with the work they done. Well I was more then 100% happy with everything, the work, the time spent, the extra free job I had wanted done. This is why I wish thumbtack, had a higher 5 star feedback on this site, because it was very much well deserved, Very outstanding professional work done with again the best service that I could ask for !! I was so happy with everything I even paid them more money, for the other small job I asked if they could check on for me of the repair of my light pole in my yard. I only have 1 contact I need for any job now, and that is for Curtis Leclear. I thought workers like this were a thing of the past !! again more then 100% happy with everything, and who ever is reading this and want to know who to hire, STOP AND GO NO FURTHER !!! This is the ONLY person you need to contact. You will be glad you took this person on for your job big or small, you will find the very best right here !!! And Curtis if your reading this, THANK YOU AGAIN !!! Thank you Curtis & Thank you Thumbtack !!!

      Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost to install a vinyl fence?

A new fence can mean added home value, increased curb appeal, and improved home security. The national average vinyl fence installation cost is $4,600. Vinyl fences have a number of appealing qualities such as their durability, their lasting good looks (they don’t weather like wood does), their versatility, and the fact that they require little to no maintenance such as staining. Fencing companies typically charge per linear foot for vinyl fence installation. They calculate their estimates based on materials to be used, height of fence, linear feet of the proposed fence, and the accessibility of the terrain. If the workers need to level the land before work begins, your vinyl fence installation costs will probably increase. Vinyl fences are typically more expensive than wood or chain-link. For example, one company might charge $19-$22 per linear foot for a basic 6-foot vinyl privacy fence. Another company might charge $25-$35 per linear foot for standard vinyl fencing, while decorative fencing with custom detail could increase that cost to $50 per linear foot. For a 6-foot-high white vinyl privacy fence with two walk-through gates (plus demolition and disposal of the old fence), the cost of the total project could run $8,000. A 4-foot-high, 36-linear-foot white picket vinyl fence with one gate could cost $2,600.

How much does it cost to put up a chain-link fence?

Chain-link fence is one of the most affordable options for adding safety and value to your home or business. The national average chain-link fence installation cost is $2,750. Chain-link fences are relatively simple for the pros to install; a fence of less than 150 linear feet can often be put up in under one day. A good rule of thumb is to add an additional workday for each additional 100 linear feet of fence to be installed.

Chain-link fence installation costs are affected by the fluctuating cost of steel, regional labor rates, the height of fence you select, and the features you select, such as a powder-coated finish. The industry standard is galvanized steel, which is rust- and corrosion-resistant. Galvanized chain-link fence installation cost, including labor and materials, is typically $12 per linear foot. For a more contemporary and elegant option, black powder-coated galvanized chain-link fence might cost approximately $15 per linear foot on average, including materials and labor. For industrial sites or businesses, 10-foot-high galvanized chain-link fences may provide additional security, but also have an added cost. A 10-foot-high chain-link fence could cost $17-$18 per linear foot, including labor and materials.

How much is a redwood fence per foot?

A redwood fence is a long-lasting home investment that can add beauty and major curb appeal to your home. Redwood fence installation costs are higher than those for pressure-treated pine or cedar, due to the relative scarcity of the wood. Pricing can vary for redwood fence installation costs based on regional labor rates, current prices of redwood planks, the height and linear feet of the fence, and any custom designs or features. Redwood fences, in addition to being beautiful, are naturally more resistant against bugs and rot than less hardy or dense woods. Redwood fences also generally fare well in wet or humid climates due to their natural oils — which also make them easier to maintain. Materials costs per linear foot for redwood planks can range anywhere from $6 to $20 or more, depending on grade, quality and height.

      How long is welding training?

Because there are different paths to learning to weld, there’s no single timeline for welding training. Some people attend school part-time while working their current job, while others can focus full-time on their welding training courses. People interested in learning how to weld as a hobby can also take classes from professional welders, such as at KCMA & Services in Waterloo, Indiana.

Expect to take at least two years to go from welding newbie to American Welding Society Certified Welder. A junior college Certificate of Completion welding course is two semesters full-time, or 10 units of coursework. With this certificate, students are qualified for an apprenticeship or internship, rather than a full-time entry-level job. Welding apprenticeships range from 6,000 to 8,000 hours long, equalling three to four years at 2,000 hours per year. Some junior colleges, such as Cerritos College in the Los Angeles area, offer more in-depth welding programs that lead to different welding certifications, such as arc welding and tungsten gas arc welding. These take three to four semesters to complete, so you could be qualified for an entry-level job in about two years of full-time study. Alternatively, you can prepare for employment more quickly through an intensive vocational program at a trade school. For instance, Ohio’s Lincoln Electric Company offers a comprehensive program that prepares people for a welding career in just 20 weeks and 600 hours of hands-on instruction.

      How much is welding training?

The cost of welding training depends on where you take your classes and how quickly you want to complete the program. In general, junior college welding classes are the least expensive, but may take longer; trade schools offer intensive classes that lead to certification more quickly, but are more expensive. For example, Cerritos College, a junior college in Los Angeles that offers a welding training course, charges an average of $46 per unit; most of their welding certificate programs require 19 units of coursework, so cost about $875 each to complete. Pro-Weld, an on-site welding school in Idaho, offers three different welding courses. The 36-week welder fabrication and the 24-week gas tungsten arc welding courses each cost an average of $3,300, while pipe welding costs an average of $2,500 for a 24-week session or an average of $4,500 for a 52-week session. The 20-week comprehensive program at the Lincoln Electric Company in Ohio costs an average of $9,500. Many programs require students to purchase approximately $120-$200 worth of personal welding equipment in addition to textbooks or other class material fees.
