- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Our baristas go to several food- and coffee-based conferences, conventions, and symposiums every year, often paying travel expenses from their own pockets. We try to attend at least one CoffeeFest every year, as well as the Michigan Restaurant Show and the Specialty Coffee Association of America trade show.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I worked at the cafe for the former owners while attending college. After graduating I couldn't find a job I liked nearly as much as the one I had, so I stayed. Eventually the opportunity arrived for me to purchase the shop and I love it.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Wedding receptions and graduation parties are the jobs we most often take, though we've done business grand openings and birthday parties as well.
