I was overall very impressed with the level of service I received from Solid Rock. In short, I was pleased with: 1. the integrity of the bid (all items were finished to their completion) 2. the final cost with additions added (we added a few items of work along the way) and 3. the amount of time from start until completion. In full disclosure, the level of work included an almost total remodeling of my 1500 sf basement (included a bathroom, bedrooms, kitchen, and living area), two main floor bathrooms gut-remodels, and replacing some doors on the main floor. Electrical, drywall, lots of tiling, plumbing, permits, and carpentry were all involved. Harlan Jr. was very efficient in communicating timelines, and was also accommodating to meet the needs of my family (e.g. working around their schedule, providing updates, and additional needed communication). I have already verbally recommended the Solid Rock crew to others I know who are looking for a reliable, hard-working, and honest construction company, and Solid Rock met those attributes for me. Thank you! (pictures soon!)

We had a total bathroom remodel done by Solid Rock through Lowes. We were told it would take 8 weeks or less to complete but it took 4 months. I expected people will be working on my project almost every day but it was not the case. It was once a week, or 2 weeks. No one came unless I contacted the project manager to ask when they are coming next time. Results are with: crooked counter top, uneven floor tiles, deeply scratched hardwood floor during demolition, and huge ugly stain on the drive way, chipped then patched bath tub on the brand-new tub, etc. And when there are some issues like all the above, they dont notify you.The plumber and different people who came to fix later pointed out to me how works were not done properly. Missed materials, incorrect materials, unfinished painting surface, etc. They are not careful at all while working on the house. They dont put any protection on the floor or tub to prevent damage to your property. Now every time I take bath in the patched tub, what I see is the crooked countertop. I am NOT happy with the work duration, quality, and the workmanship of the Solid Rock Construction. I do not recommend working with them. Very stressful. No one deserves what we had to go through.

recently the team from solid rock removed a old building at my mothers farm. I cannot say enough about their profession attitudes toward the project. they did what they said they would and their quotes were exact. they had all the neccessary tools and equipment to complete the project on time. Harlan treated my mother with great respect and understanding as she many questions during the process. I would recommend the solid rock company to anyone who have projects on their property . they are fine christian people with high moral standards as well as professional standards in the work they do. Not only this project was done at my mothers home but other remodels have been done at my own home in coon rapids by this solid rock company. If anyone is considering construction work please give this company a chance to solve all your needs. You will not be sorry. Les Peterson

As new home-buyers, it is my opinion that Solid Rock took advantage of us. I can look back now and shake my head, but I really wish I would have had someone looking over my shoulder to steer me clear of this company. First, I believe that they heavily inflated the bids for specific tasks of the job, but since I had never owned a home, I had no idea what to expect. Take this one for example: we asked for GFI outlets to be installed in two rooms. Now that I'm a competent homeowner, I know that this can be done for about $20/outlet and 10 minutes of time. We had 4 outlets installed, and Solid Rock charged over $1000. I do not believe that is a fair price for that work. Second, I was not satisfied with the quality of the work that was performed and I'm still frustrated with it to this day. We paid them to fix some rot in a bathroom. Instead of fully removing all of the rotted wood of the wall framing, they removed a fraction of it, and then covered up the rest with new tile. Luckily I did find it a month later while I was having a new floor installed, and I argued with them until they came out to fix it. Did I ever receive an apology? Nope. Continuing on with what I believe to be sub-par quality, we also paid them to fix a chimney. The bricks were severely deteriorating and it also needed a new crown. Now, I don't know who is doing their masonry work, but I question that person's qualifications. They left me with an ugly chimney (oh, and they also left a mess on broken bricks on my roof and in my gutters) that continues to crumble due to the incorrect crown installation. I have called out several other masons to address this problem and I'm receiving quotes of $2000+ to fix the problems. It is my expectation that when Solid Rock did the work for us only 3 years ago (for $2000+) that I wouldn't have to pay someone else to come out and fix the same problems again. In summary, I had immediate issues with the work that was done by Solid Rock, and I continue to have issues to this day.
