Luke S. says, "We hired Mark to replace a 2nd story ~ 15’ x 10’ deck/balcony. At our initial meeting, Mark viewed the balcony, measured and then immediately began to make suggestions based on our thoughts about materials, design, etc.
Within a few short minutes, Mark gave a ballpark estimate of the cost of the project, which was both very competitively priced and within a couple $100 when he returned within a day or two with a written proposal.
We immediately executed the contract, Mark provided an estimated delivery date for the materials and a start date for the tear-down of our old balcony. Both dates were spot-on.
After the tear-down, Mark did a thorough removal of all debris, as promised. Upon delivery of the decking material, (before installation) Mark pointed-out some flaws (weathering, scratches) in some of the decking. He immediately contacted the supplier and had all new decking delivered.
Mark and his crew did some hard and hot construction in the dog days of August. The project was completed within the timeframe Mark had estimated.
When Mark told us that he or a crew member would be at our home, he/they were there or Mark contacted us with a “Sorry, but...”, which we appreciated. Mark was readily available by text message, often within minutes, never beyond half-a-day.
Mark went above-and-beyond to make sure that a water-leak issue with the old balcony (into our 1st Floor 3-Season porch) would not reoccur after his deck installation.
Our bottom line: Mark’s work product, price, communication, etc. led us to immediately hire him to replace our lower/ground-level 15’x15’ deck with the same composite decking, a project we foresaw needing in a year or two (and Yes, our experience with Mark on the tear-down and construction of Deck #2 mirrored Deck #1). Add to that, it’s our intent to hire Mark to build a Pergola for our lower deck in Spring 2020.
We would recommend Mark for similar construction projects without reservation.
