Allen did a great job, on a Sunday and arrived promptly. I like that he explained what he was doing and gave me advice on the faucet and plumbing in anticipation of future needs. Thank you Allen!
Greg did a great job remodeling our bathroom. He installed new tile, wood trim, moved and installed a new vanity light and troubleshooted and solved some curve balls that came up along the way. I highly recommend and will keep him in mind for future projects!
I contracted with WD Home Repairs for: - demo of an existing bathroom consisting of carpet, toilet, cabinetry, sinks, and 1-piece fiberglass shower unit - floor tile installation - shower tile installation (walls and floor) Throughout the process, Donald was responsible, approachable, and reasonable. The quote for the project beat top-rated bathroom remodeling firms (Angie's List) by a significant margin. WD Home Repairs maintained an eye for detail while completing the project. As with any project of this scale, a couple of unforeseen issues came up. I was impressed with the speed and positive attitude in which WD Home Repairs resolved these issues. I am pleased with the finished project. The overall experience was largely worry-free. I would not hesitate to contract with WD Home Repairs again for future tiling projects.
I had my interior trim and doors installed and painted. I had started the process a couple years ago, but was having difficulty finishing the project with 3 young boys and all there activities. I hired Adventure 25 to come out and give a bid and they could start the project in about a week. The first part of the process was to finish the trim work and rip all the basement trim out and a couple of doors that had not been replaced yet. The trim work was done in a couple of days. The painting was delayed because of rainy weather. This is where the stress begins. The prep work that comes before painting can be a lot of work and time consuming. There was little to no prep of the trim. Lots of missed nail holes, lots of missed caulking and the stuff that was done was very poor. I was told that this is high quality paint and it will cover in one coat. I know better. It can take several coats to make the white trim look good. There was paint all over the wood floors, tile in kitchen, paint on the cabinets, paint on my trees outside, paint on the concrete driveway, paint on my fire pit. There seemed to be no care in the world. Jaimie kept telling me that we are not painters. I understand that but my 5 year could of done better. It was supposed to be rolled and instead there was pain brush marks all the trim. The one painter said he thought it would look cute to but swirls with his brush on the top of all the door trims. I met with Jaimie 4 different times to which he said how do I make this right? I would go through things with him and come home at the end of the day to find more of a mess and continued poor quality work. I have never seen anything like this. He would say it would be fixed but I don't think he would watch over his workers and forget to tell them things. I am stressed out beyond believe as my hope was to have this finished to spend more time with my kids. Instead I have to redo most of it. I had another contractor come out and told me it would be about 10 thousand to fix. He never had seen such poor quality work. I would not recommend him to my worst enemy. Very nice person but I think he was over his head and always in a rush, hence the poor quality work. Since I cant pay 10 thousand to someone to fix it, I am now looking at a year or so to fix my trim. Very frustrated and angry customer.
Northern RX did a fine job tiling our bathroom remodeling, putting in large marble tiles around the bath tub. Tyler is an artist who chose the marble tile design to make a very artistic appearance. He was very concerned with scrap so as not to use more tiles than necessary - and I was able to return more tiles than the "normal" amount would have been. Professional quality work that was priced right. I will hire him again if I have other remodeling projects. It's nice to have a "go to" guy.
Picture this. ...a flooded house, with endless tussle with the insurance company and a gloomy moldy smell , until I met Julio. From hard wood floor installation, plumbing in the bathroom, installing a storm door, refinishing partial basement from water damage to helping with other handy jobs that were not even part of the agreement, because he is s perfectionist. The best part of it all was his professionalism. He treated my home with respect and I am happy to come home again.
If you are looking for help decorating your house look no further. Stacy is your gal. I refer to her to my friends as the Joanna Gains of MSP for rustic chic (although she can do any aesthetic you are dreaming of)! I hired her to help me furnish and decorate my new construction home. She was always very attentive and had a wonderful game plan to help me tackle such a huge task. She came over and measured my home and took pictures. She then gave me a 3D rendering of my home decorated! It was STUNNING. We then went on several shopping trips to buy the large pieces together. Later on we went on trips to find the perfect accessories at places an interior designer would only know about! Stacy was a great listener and was flexible if any pieces didnt speak to me. She was happy to point out other options that would look just as nice. Finally, Stacy got some amazing designer discounts at the large box stores. On the shopping front Stacy is happy to do as little or as much as you need! She can go with you or tell you what to find, whatever your preference. She is also a master stager and thriftstore expert too! Stacy not only does typical furniture placement, shopping, and decorating...she is also an architect who can make a ton of the creative projects she proposes in your home for you. You don't have to hire yet another person. Wonder woman I tell you!!! Stacy made us a custom mud room bench built in HERSELF. She used reclaimed wood from all over the state and from barns! She also made us a custom chalkboard wall. Stacy's daughter took the pictures for our collage wall that will line our steps, they are the things of dreams! Stacy also picked out a wonderful reclaimed wood wall paper for above the fireplace that is unlike anything I have ever seen. To sum up it Stacy is a joy to work with, she is a friend at this point. She can literally do it all. She is flexible on all counts and can help you as little or as much as you like at a very fair price point. If you haven't already, just hire stay. You won't regret it. -Tory
Im so pleased to find Kel Heyl on Thumbtack as now he will be available to even more homeowners. Kel has done work on and in my home since 2004, from very large projects to small tasks. I love that he is such a careful, creative and meticulous craftsman his work is never slapdash. Ive always been very happy with the results, and can recommend him highly to anyone interested in having work done on their home by somebody who knows what hes doing, and will do it well. Built screened porch, based on his own design. (2004) Removed a chain-link fence and posts. (October 2004) Removed textured ceilings in living room and dining room. Ripped and installed new molding for both rooms. Installed a chandelier. (April 2010) Installed a new entry door to porch, including altering and adapting the jamb. (June 2009) Hung antique coat rack. (2008) Installed a new pre-hung access door for garage. (June 2009) Re-screened porch panels damaged by cat and raccoons. (July 2011) Hung a magnetic knife rack. (February 2012) Re-shingled garage roof, first removing old layers down to bare wood. (August 2012)
I Love the look of my new windows. They are easy to clean. The installers did not leave a mess for me to clean up. The installers were very professional and charming. The installers were prompt and quick to get the job done.
Nate is very professional and knowledgeable and did a great job installing a new bath/shower surround for me. I would definitely hire him again for another job.
We had a total bathroom remodel, down to the studs while only keeping the bathtub. Price was fair. We were told it would be a few months but we got bumped up sooner, then it only took two weeks start to finish! Looks great now and we didn't have to lift a finger. Communication between sales and crew could've been better so we didn't have to go over our plan again, but I would rather have it done right. I also had to have them fix a few small things from day to day, which they did no problem. Would recommend to others.
We had our entire main floor redone. Sanded, stained and sealed the oak floors. Removed and installed new vinyl coretec in kitchen and bathroom. Looks fantastic - neighbors are all talking about what a change from wall to wall carpet to the hardwood floor
Aitken's Elegant Granite installed quartz on our master bath countertop. Their prices were great and this husband/wife team were very personable; however, I did have to have them come back to smooth out a mark on the quartz.
Installed laminate floor in kitchen and dining room. Easy to work with, flexible and knows his stuff, gave recommendations and shared ideas. Floor looks good.
Ryan and his crew did an incredible job on our bathroom remodel. They completed the job on time and within budget...a rarity these days. Ryan did a great job of listening to our specific needs/requests but also provided a lot of very useful advice to ensure a great end product. Very knowledgeable about materials, and he had great referrals within the industry to make sure we used high quality products that were also reasonably priced. He was also extremely responsive and easy to work with. I would definitely hire Ryan's Remodeling again. They'll be our go-to for the next big project.
Angie and her team are outstanding! Being able to move everything out of our home and having her stage it to look beautiful took so much stress out of our lives. She was able to take a split level home where the kitchen and living room where separated and make the entire space feel so much more open as your eye was guided to the beautiful interior throughout. She brought a special touch by adding pieces that really resonated with us – a thoughtful touch that made the experience even more special. In the numerous offer letters we received, prospective buyers commented on how lovely the home was, how well cared for, and how they were anxious to turn the corner into each room to see what was inside. Also, how it looked like many wonderful memories where made there and how they wanted to make their own in that special place. Angie’s designs where not only beautiful but made you feel like you could see yourself living there in a comfortable and inviting space. Since the proof is always in the pudding, we were floored by the number of offers we received and know that we received a much higher value on our home due to our decision to work with Angie and Orchestrated Living Design. Best decision we’ve made in a long time, and the relationship you’ll build with Angie is one you’ll treasure. Very grateful customers. Thanks so much! Shawna Stoltenberg
Jose did an excellent job on my house. I hired him to do interior painting, drywall a bathroom paint and the ceilings. He also painted my ceilings and did knock down on my kitchen ceiling. I hired him and his crew to paint the exterior of my house and trim.
MN Exteriors and Remodelers did a fantastic job on our bathroom. I would recommend them!
DPENN Construction completed two projects in my mid-century ranch style home: basement, bedroom remodel and front exterior entry way repair. In a 70 year old home, projects like this are never simple and come with unique challenges. Both projects were completed to my COMPLETE SATISFACTION and met or exceeded all of my expectations. The first thing I would say about DPENN Construction is VALUE. The quality of the work and the attention to meeting my goals for the job spoke directly to value. At every step along the way, David Pennington, immediately responded to all questions and conducted himself with respect for my home and Professionalism in his work. I will call DPENN Construction again when I'm ready for the next project!
We were thinking about a remodel for our kitchen and searched the internet for ideas of upgrades. Serda Remodelling contacted us and came over that week to give us more ideas and an estimate for the project. We decided to work with Serda. Freddie Serda gave us a time frame to start and to be finished. He suggested places for us to look at granite/quartz counter top material, back splash, faucets, handles for the cupboards etc....in the meantime Freddie's crew started the sanding and coating on the wood floors. We picked everything out and gave him our list. Like magic, Freddie coordinated his crews for the kitchen. The cabinet maker is amazing with the cupboards - love the crown molding! The quartz counter top came out perfectly and fitted exactly. The wood floor is brilliant - what a difference! The ceiling and walls were patched and repainted. All of the new appliances were hooked up - including the sink, faucets, fridge, oven and garbage disposal - and they finished on time! There is a lot involved updating a kitchen. Many things can go wrong - especially with measurements and spendy items like the counter tops and cupboards. Freddie took all of the worry away of our responsibility if something did not fit. We enjoyed all of the crew. They are courteous and great craftsman. This is an experienced company! I highly recommend them. We love our kitchen! It is beautiful!
Ann & Barrie were AMAZING!!!! Exactly what I was looking for! I hired them for 2 hours to got through my 3800 sq foot house and give paint ideas, decor and what to keep, what to update! We were in the midst of a remodel and needed some design help and direction. Absolutely fantastic, professional advice!! They worked within my budget and gave great inexpensive ideas!! Would use them in a heartbeat again. If you are to remodel and update things on your own, don't make a costly mistake- hire these designers! They give you great timeless, not trendy ideas- and know how to work with existing finishes and woods as well. Yes, they gave great ideas on how to work with my Golden oak in the house! I feel so much more at peace with the direction of the rest of the remodel! Very happy!
