Michelle is SO WORTH IT! Every time I come in we discuss goals, how I’m improving and in two weeks there has already been a noticeable difference in how my body is going from Pillsberry dough boy to being the terminator. Well it’s not that drastic but you get my point. Michelle is so easy to get along with and flexible with my schedule. (She kinda has to be, she teaches yoga) lol. But seriously, she’s awesome. Pick her as your trainer. DO IT!
Jessica is an amazing trainer. When I began training with Jess almost 3 years ago I was a year out from having twins. I learned early on from Jess that that inches come off faster than the pounds. After 4 months I was down 10lbs and that didn't seem like a lot but I lost 27inches and went from a size 12 to a size 6. With monthly measurements you can see and feel that you are achieving a goal and that building muscle does not mean bulking up if done right! As time progressed and I built more muscle, literally one day the pounds just flew off (20+ lbs lost). I stated when we met that I would never be able to do a sit up. I have since blown that out of the water and run numerous 5k's, 10k's, and 3 half marathons! The last being Big Sur, my dream! I also had a very high and erratic heart rate. After 3 years my heart rate has improved and is 30-40 beats lower while running. I now understand the need for a personal trainer. She pushes me beyond what I would make myself do. However, Jess will also listen as I have chronic IT Band issues. She understands when I say that I need to back down on something (as I never back down). Jess is an amazing trainer who will teach you new things about yourself and introduce you to new workouts you may not think of (TRX, Yoga, Boxing, how to use paper plates in a workout if you don't have equipment). She is truly amazing and most importantly we work as a team to achieve goals together! It speaks volumes that now my mother has come to understand why I use a trainer. My mother has now taken up strength training and yoga with Jess at the age of 62!
Great people and great service. We're a tree service, so our employees are athletes. We value the Yoga time and it helps with our team.
I've practiced yoga with Mary since the beginning of my pregnancy. I was in her prenatal workshop and have also taken her restorative as well as a prenatal strength/restorative combination class (all of which were excellent)! Mary has the most soothing voice, and she makes you feel so strong, capable, and cared for. Every class I go to, I feel completely refreshed and relaxed when I leave. She is very knowledgeable in her practice and has a great way of explaining any questions you might have. I would recommend her classes to anyone! :)
Looking for a great introduction to yoga? Guidance to further your practice? Or do you simply enjoy great music during your practice? If any or all of the above apply, you must try a class with Alex. My 14-year-old daughter, who is a beginner, and I recently took a class with Alex. Her attention to proper form and guidance on how to get into poses was very helpful. I've been practicing daily for a just a few months and following Alex suggestions I was able to get into Crow pose, which I had been struggling with. Give Alex a try. You won't regret it.
Kristie is very personable and has a down-to-earth approach which put me at ease, and allowed me to feel comfortable right away. She was great working alongside beginners, explaining poses and breathing, and helping to modify poses for those who needed it. I loved the intimate studio setup too - the smaller class size felt low-pressure and more individualized.
Went thrunthumbtack for local yoga possibilities and received a name I followed up with. It was for individual yoga. I'm thinking group. Will consider person referred to though. Not ready right now

Class schedule in my Edina, MN home: * Tuesdays, 6:30-8:00 p.m. * Thursdays, 9:30-11:00 a.m. * Saturdays, 9:30 a.m. Private instruction is available. Call in advance to register for classes. These are the essentials about me: As a teacher, I help bring awareness to those areas of the body that are unconscious to each person. I give technical points as to how this body machine of ours works, but more importantly, I truly care about the human beings who have honored me by letting me into their lives. I get excited when they discover a breakthrough in their mind/body work. I see the perfect pose in everyone, yet I do not care at all about perfecting poses. The pose is a direction, a form that one's body moves toward. Your body is somewhere in that form it is not a form imposed on your body. That is why everybody can do my yoga. I gently guide and encourage you to move in a direction of opening your body and making it strong, so that it can open. This is a joyous process for me and the students. Trying to define my style in yoga is like trying to define me I will leave it to my students to describe their experience in my classes and retreats. I have taught yoga in the Twin Cities for over 30 years. I began studying hatha yoga and meditation 35 years ago when I was writing my master's thesis in philosophy. Disciples of Swami Rama and the Himalayan Institute constituted the yoga community in my area at that time. The focus was on breathing, meditation and a gentle soft style of hatha yoga. I studied exclusively with these people for seven years. When I realized I loved yoga and it was my purpose in life to be a yoga teacher, I began traveling around the world to take teacher training programs.
I provide yoga practice for students who wish to explore yoga, expand their practice or deepen their yoga philosophy on and off the mat. In addition, as a health coach, I provide one-on-one coaching to clients who wish to manage stress, live healthy, active lives and balance their life choices.
I work with students to meet them where they are with yoga. If you are looking for improved mobility and fitness or a mind and body connection, we will create a practice that feels good and offers a challenge to help you grow. From restorative yoga to powerful flow and even the depths of hot yoga, I'm sure that we will find a perfect match for you. Does group fitness make you uneasy? I'll help you prepare to join a class or happily teach you individually. Let's talk about what you need.
I did extensive yoga training in India. I specialize in hatha, ashtanga and vinyasa yoga. My primary focus is increasing flexibility by learning and maintaining proper form during and after the practice.
Yoga, the practice of unifying mind, body, spirit, is an ongoing practice. My practice seems to be unique to the Twin Cities area as I have practiced all over the world, however mostly in California and India.
I have been teaching private yoga sessions since November of 2014. Yoga has helped me get through incredibly difficult times and come out as a stronger person. I think the mental benefits are as great as the physical benefits. I hope to share this passion with as many people as I can reach.
Amber Marie Heigl (Marigold) began her yoga journey in 2007 after a year of rigorously studying dance, music, and performance education at California Pacific College of the Performing Arts. After completing the program, she received a music certificate in the performing arts and returned home to Minnesota. Not sure where to exactly go next, she enrolled in Minneapolis Community and Technical College to continue her studies. There she enrolled in a hatha yoga class and from then on, her yoga path began. From studying dance most of her life, yoga was an innate practice for her. Marigold continued to practice on her own and attend classes at various studios after the course at MCTC. In 2011, she began studying more intensely while being involved in the Karma Yoga program at Svasti Yoga. There, she studied classical Indian yoga and Reiki under Laurie Endris. In January of 2015, Marigold Amber traveled to Nashik, India, and completed the Yoga Pravesh course. She also received her diploma in yoga education. Marigold teaches a combination of classical Indian yoga, meditation, aatha, and ashtanga yoga. She can also offer therapies, such as sound and Reiki healing.
I am currently a 200-hour-certified power vinyasa teacher and am working on my 500-hour certification. I teach a variety of vinyasa/flow classes and children's yoga classes as well. I am also CPR certified. My focus is to bring the benefits of yoga to everyone and to make yoga fun for all ages!
I approach yoga as a way to get your mind in tune with your body is already capable of, with a non competitive, non perfection approach. Come as you are and enjoy the journey of getting in shape and being healthy.
I have very descriptive cues that I often get complemented on, I'm very good at taking feedback and building my practice to be able to serve anyone from beginners to advanced. Breath plays a very important role in my practice.
