I highly recommend Nicole for graphic design work. She did an excellent job designing my business card and brochure. I am student on a budget and had time constraints with my project - she did a wonderful job staying within my budget and turned the project around very quickly. She has great communication skills too!

Kelsey designed logos and marketing materials for two nonprofits I work with in Minneapolis. She has also helped with some one-on-one tutoring in Illustrator. She creates beautiful designs, she's prompt, and she's easy to work with. I'd recommend her for logo design and marketing strategy!

As an owner of a small company (50 employees), I have contracted with many graphic artists and designers over the past 25 years. Without question Jonathon's work was in the top 1 percent. He was timely, professional, creative, and in the end he exceeded expectations. I do not hesitate to give him my highest recommendation.

I commissioned Patrick to do a piece of artwork showing a guitar and a piano together. I wanted to use it for the program of a recital for works for classical guitar and piano, written for me and my husband, and also possibly for the CD of this music. I was familiar with Patrick's work because I had seen a lot of his pieces displayed at North Hennepin Community College and thought they were very beautiful and striking. Working with Patrick was wonderful! He listened carefully to what I had in mind. I gave him my basic idea, but I wanted to leave the creative concepts and design up to him. He showed me some early initial ideas he had, we discussed them, and then he worked on the piece that became the finished product. I am very happy with the beautiful and vibrant work I received from Patrick! I am not an artist so I don't know exactly what techniques he used, but I believe he used both drawing and painting in my piece. I highly recommend Patrick. He is wonderful to work with - artistically and personally.

IRL's team helped me curate a design for my company's annual fundraiser. The design process from start to finish was smooth, simple and professional, but what I enjoyed most was IRL's unique process for working with clientele. Deya, from IRL, asked me to draw out the design I had in mind and send it to her. She then asked me to come up with a moodboard of what I wanted the graphics to look like. After receiving my sketch and mood board, she added some edits/streamlined my sketch and sent it back to me for approval. Once approved, Deya sent the product to IRL designers who created the exact graphic I envisioned for our annual fundraiser. I highly recommend IRL and will DEFINITELY be using them for any future company events! THANK YOU

She has designed baby shower invitations, wedding shower invitations, and has recently designed my new business header and logo for my new Facebook page and upcoming website! She is fast, creative, excellent to work with and I couldn't ask for a better person to work with on my many projects. She is so smart and comes up with designs so quickly it blows my mind!

I commissioned Emily for an art gallery logo. She was very responsive to my initial ideas, taking this input to create a well-considered and attractive design. During each step of our project, she was efficient and professional. I appreciated how she shared her reasons for selecting certain fonts and layouts. Without hesitation, I would recommend her if you're looking to have a fun and fresh design experience!

        Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What makes a good logo design?

A good logo is an easily identifiable, memorable image that represents your brand. A good logo design aligns with your business model and expresses your company’s core values. A good logo design is simple, appealing, and easy for customers and viewers to quickly process. Some of the key components of a great logo are type, color palette and design. The scale, font and arrangement of the text you select will all make a difference in the feel and representation of your brand. A graphic designer will help you home in on the colors that best represent your identity and help you keep the color palette simple. The design of your logo includes the shapes you select and the way the color and type are arranged together. Investing in the services of a professional to create your logo design is likely a smart investment for any size business. Nationally, the average price range for a logo designer ranges from $170 to $250.

How much does it cost to create a logo?

Logo design is an important part of your company’s brand development. More than an image with text and color, a logo communicates the tone and personality of your company to your potential customers. Hiring a graphic designer with an appealing portfolio and quality reviews is a solid start to creating a winning logo design. The cost to create a logo can depend on how in-depth the marketing and design services you request are. Designers can create one logo in multiple formats (horizontal, vertical, etc.) to fit both your website and social media platforms, they can create a variety of designs for clients to select from, or they can create multiple logos for one client who needs branding for more than one venture. Logos may be text-only, text and image, or image-only. Many designers and design firms charge by the hour for their services, while other companies offer packages bundled with design services. Here are some examples of cost:

        • National average cost to hire a logo designer: $170-$250.
        • Average hourly rate for a freelance marketing consultant: about $150.
        • Tiered pricing for logo design packages from one firm:
          • Package One: $200 for three logo concepts, three rounds of revision, and a variety of format and color end designs.
          • Package Two: $350 for 10 logo concepts, unlimited rounds of revision, and a variety of format and color end designs.
          • Package Three: $550 for everything included in the Package Two, plus business card design, letterhead design, social media graphics and an email signature.
          • Package Four: $850 for everything in the Package Three, plus custom brand guidelines, which outline a strategy for creating a consistent branding in the client’s business.
Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
