Bob performed several tasks for me: inslalled a ceiling fan, put knobs and pulls on my kitchen cabinets, caulked tubs and sinks in the bathrooms and removed a broken bulb from a socket. All tasks done excellently. He was here on time and finished in the time quoted. He was very pleasant and professional and cleaned up after himself. I would definitely hire him again.
Jeff came out late to help with a ceiling fan project gone wrong. Half the house was out of electricity. Jeff quoted a reasonable price and said he'd be over in an hour. The house had electricity again in a half hour and was quiet enough to keep the baby asleep. The work Jeff did uncovered some illegal wiring and safety concerns. So he needed to come again in the morning. Even though he needed to come twice, he still charged me the price he quoted the previous night. Very happy with Jeff's professionalism and courtesy for our sleeping baby.
Bob really knows refrigerators and is hard working, polite, and went way beyond what I expected from a repairman. He analyzed the problem quickly, quoted me a reasonable price for the repair, went to his truck for the part, and installed it in about an hour. Then he turned on the fridge, listened about 3 seconds and said the repair was not acceptable (too noisy). He called his suppliers to find a better part, drove to Burnsville to pick it up, put the new part in, and our 23-year old Whirlpool is as good as new. He honored his original quotation even though the new part was more expensive than the first one. If you don't care about the details, quit reading here. The part he replaced was a small fan that is behind a panel in the freezer section (freezer is on top). The fan blows air over the evaporator coils to distribute cold air to both the freezer and the refrigerator section. The compressor, which cools the coils was working fine, but the cold air was not being distributed properly. As for Thumbtack, I had never heard of it. I was up at 4:30 a.m. worrying about the refrigerator and went on line to look for a repair service. I found Thumbtack and answered a few incredibly easy questions and received a prompt e-mail that I would receive bids within 24 hours. By 8:30 that same morning, I had Bob's bid for coming to take a look at the fridge. He arrived before 10:30 and went to work.
Bill responded immediately, was very courteous and professional. He came to my house the very next day and did an excellent job of installing of my ceiling fan/light. I definitely recommend Bill's services.
Joe did an exceptional job on the projects in my house. The biggest was covering big holes in a tongue and groove ceiling left by the removal of three skylights. The original ceiling was 22 years old so lining everything too some extra care. Joe is precise, considerate and knowledgeable. He cleaned up after himself and I could not be more happy with the results.
Elliot repaired a bathroom fan for me. He called ahead to let me know when to expect him and did the research to repair the fan and save me money instead of just replacing the entire fan. I would hire him again in an instant.
Dan installed a new ceiling in our basement. He was punctual, professional and did a terrific job.
I had three ceiling fans installed and one bathroom vent switched to a light and vent. He communicated every step, was respectful while doing the job and flexible when it came to adjusting on the fly...like every home project has. I would recommend them for other projects just based on my interaction with this experience.
Matt installed a ceiling fan and thermostat in our home. He arrive on time, was professional, and completed the work inside the estimated cost and timeframe. I'd definitely hire him for future projects and recommend him to others as well.
I chose Gregg to come help me install an over the range microwave that was currently just a vent fan that was hard wired in unlike the microwave I had bought. Gregg came out to my location and looked at it all and told me I could pay whatever I felt I could afford. It was different than I have ever seen and I didn't know what to offer. He was then going to come back a couple days later and finish the job for me. Before he left, he told me it was a job I could do and explained the process saying I could do it myself. I consider myself somewhat handy, but my wife advises me to stay away from anything electrical (story for another day). Gregg said if you need any advice along the way, to call him any time. He left me feeling like I could really do the project, but I was hesitant as I had to cut the plug end portion off the end of my brand new microwave. I followed his instructions and got it installed myself. I sent Gregg a picture and he told me how proud he was of me. I told him I wanted to send him some money for the help and time. He told me, I just like to help people. He is not only a war vet, but a genuine guy with a big heart. I will be using him for future projects!
Keith installed a ceiling fan for me which included running the wires through the attic, cutting the hole for the fan to be wired through, and adding a second wall switch. He was on time, worked quickly, cleaned up after himself, and was very personable. I would definitely hire Keith to do other electrical jobs in the future.
I hired Scott to install a ceiling fan. Scott was friendly and easy to work with. I would hire again and recommend to others.
I have two very old sheds with warped doors and a wooden cover over some outdoor plumbing that was rotten. For 20 years I have been looking for someone to fix the rotten cover. Brian came up with a great idea. He replaced it with a kitchen cabinet purchased at Home Depo. Not only was the plumbing covered, I now have a new cabinet to store my garden tools! He and his team removed the doors on the two old sheds, strengthened them and repainted the sheds. His team put up a ceiling fan and added outlets so I have easier access to electricity. He had a team working on my projects for 4 days. You could tell this group was experienced in construction and enjoyed working hard. They are trustworthy and have integrity. ..which was nice to see in this day and age. Brian had to come back and revise the doors a bit, but he did so w/o an extra charge... because it was not done to his satisfaction and he wanted it right. I have another project for him on my 62 year old house. This guy and his staff know what they are doing.
Lynn replaced an attic fan motor and rewired the on off switch to a location near the Attic entrance. Job was completed to my satisfaction, everything is working fine. I would hire him again.
Shawn has done a number of projects for me including window repair, faucet replacement, ceiling repair to name a few. He always keeps me informed and is in constant communication. His rates are very reasonable for the excellent work and service he provides . I have referred him to many friends already and will continue to do so.
I hired Dream Home to install and paint 1000 square feet of ceiling drywall. The quality of work was completely perfect. The owner appreciates fine detail and they don’t cut corners. I would recommend them without hesitation.
I have hired Rick for many "handyman" jobs over the years and I have always been impressed with his quality of work, timeliness and ability to tackle any job even in an old house full of unforeseen surprises. Rick has replumbed my house and fixed general plumbing issues, hung screen and steel doors, wired lights and ceiling fans, done sheet rocking, layed tile flooring, installed appliances, bathroom sinks and faucets. He has redone my steps to the upstairs by refinishing the wood, running a carpet runner and adding decorative railings. He really can do most everything you ask him to do. He is reasonably priced. I would definiteyl recommend him.
I hired Ray to install a new exterior door and Charlie to wash and paint ceilings and walls. They did a fantastic job! they did everything to my expectations and more. Very trustworthy game him a key and he came and did his thing. It was a house that 2 people smoked for 12 years and the walls had never been touched. They looked brand new again. Very reasonable price. I will hire him again. Julie
Josh did a very nice job hanging a ceiling fan for me. He was polite and professional. His rate was very reasonable
Nick did a great job for us. We had a leak in a tub/shower that had ruined the ceiling and wall in the lower level bath shower. And our master bath shower needed to be redone also because the grout was falling out.. We had some water damage on one wall in our family room and we needed to have a new door installed at the bottom of our basement stairs. Plus we needed a new driveway, porch and sidewalk and new gutters. Nick was able to get the plumbers, painters, cement and gutter people in to do their work exactly when they were needed as well as the cultured marble installer. Nick did all of the demo and rebuilding of the showers and tile installation himself. It all took about 6 weeks. Part of that time was to finish one bathroom before proceeding to the other 2 so we would have one usable bathroom at all times. I felt I had an open line of communication with Nick the whole time. We couldn't be happier with the results.
