Introduction: A tired dog is a good dog! Jake and Jamie of J&J’s know how important exercise and activity is to your dog - we have 3 dogs of our own! Between us, we have worked in dog daycare and training for about 8 years. We offer dog walking and pet sitting (including cats and exotics), basic obedience training, puppy training, and we are now offering two board and training packages; basic obedience B&T and adventure board and training. Adventure B&T includes daily training outings such as hiking, patio manners, swimming, pet friendly stores, etc. Your dog’s guaranteed to have a great time! We use a balanced approach to dog training with an emphasis on positive reinforcement methods. We do not ascribe to a particular philosophy on training, except to do what works for the dog in front of us!

Jamie made so many great observations about me and my dog Simba Grahm that really assisted me. She was very open and authentic. She took on my concerns with high regard and worked hands on with us. She was flexible and very kind. I recommend Jamie with enthusiasm and respect.

We recently did a private training session with Jamie and she did a fantastic job. She is very knowledgeable about dog body language and she explains things well to you so that you can continue to train your dog after the session. I would highly recommend Jamie for dog training!

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

$30 for a 30 minute walk or drop in visit, $45 for a one hour walk. Training rates are $60 per hour.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Determine what their needs are, schedule a meeting and greet if requested and book services from there.

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

Jamie has been a dog trainer for 5 years training group classes and Jake has experience working in doggie daycare. We’ve both been life long dog owners and currently have three of our own dogs. Jamie participates in numerous dog performance sports with our dogs and as a team has earned titles in obedience, agility, lure coursing, barn hunt, etc. two of our dogs are Therapy Dogs and visit with elementary schools, libraries and nursing homes. We got into this type of work to share our experience and knowledge with others so they can fully enjoy their dogs and build a mutually beneficial relationship!
