I was very happy with the response. Vicky made two additional visits just to check on my progress and provided advice on how to remediate the situation. This was exactly what I needed. Very professional.Aug 3, 2015Verified
I have a house in Brooklyn Center that a tenant complained about mold. Vickie was very professional and she came to our rescue. She came over to the house and did a very careful inspection for all signs of mold. She spent hours in the house making sure that she was doing her job right. After the inspection it only took her a few days to write up a report which also included solutions on how to deal with the type of molds that were contaminating the house. Lucky for us the mold was very minor and everything went well. Thanks Vickie!Mar 20, 2013Verified
Vickie Swenson of MOLD INSPECTION SERVICES did an excellent job of investigating a property for me which had a history of mold issues. I am a Realtor in the Mpls/St. Paul area with over 30 years of real estate experience, and I would feel very comfortable recommending Vickie to any future client who might have a need to know the mold status of a property.Mar 3, 2011
Less than a year ago, our basement flooded from a sewer backup that was caused by tree roots. Initially I thought that my cleanup efforts were sufficient(shop-vac to remove all water, discard visibly damaged carpet and belongings), but unfortunately I was wrong. About 2 months later my wife noticed black spores growing on some of the sheetrocked areas in our laundry room. That is when I decided to consult an expert to see if we were dealing with a potential mold issue. I reached out to Minnesota Mold Inspection and Vickie responded very promptly. From the moment that she arrived at our residence she was extremely professional, courteous and considerate. She explained every step that would be done in the testing process and always kept us informed. Vickie then delivered a comprehensive report with a summary of the incident, mold spore counts and types, recommended next steps for mold remediation/restoration, and content cleaning instructions/suggestions for all of our personal items. We were so impressed with her outstanding work that we reached out to her a second time to perform clearance testing after the restoration company completed the mold removal and air cleaning. I would highly recommend Vickie from Minnesota Mold Inspection for any and all mold related issues.Jun 5, 2013
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I'm a member of the Indoor Air Quality Association and attend quarterly training sessions. My ACAC cerfification requires ongoing training. I've attended training classes sponsored by various restoration companies, ESA, IAQA and the University of Minnesota. I'm also a member of the National Environmental Health Association.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?I have four sons. One of them has asthma, with mold being a major trigger. When I realized that four people in our family had mold in their houses (it's that common) and that he couldn't visit them for long without an asthma attack, I wanted to learn more about finding mold in homes and getting rid of it.
- What types of customers have you worked with?My jobs are primarily residential (homes and apartments). My special area of concern is mold in basements. Most homes in Minnesota have basments, and many have mold. Even unfisihed basements can develop mold conditions. Minneotans are so accostomed to musty smelling basements that they accept it as 'that basement smell'...but your basment should smell as good as the rest of your house. Spores from mold in the basement often travel to upper levels of your house.
