John gave us a free co summation and judged our financial difficulties to be borderline. He said he would help us file but that we are in a situation we could climb out of systematically. I have so much respect for the fact that he talked himself out of a job! If we decide to file bankruptcy down the road he is definitely our guy. He truly has solid ethics and a heart for people who are struggling financially.

In the twenty years I’ve known Marie I have been impressed with her realistic solutions to the true financial situation. She has the knowledge and experience to get you through your difficult time and is the rare lawyer I’ve found who doesn’t just file the paperwork for you, but also gives you the tools to rebuild your life and credit after your case is done.

Since 1976, the law office of Stephen J. Beseres Attorney at Law has helped New Hope and Hennepin County residents with their bankruptcy and Social Security issues. Our extensive experience allows us to understand your needs and offer sound advice. For many, bankruptcy offers a fresh start. Chapter 7 bankruptcy, or liquidation, is the most common type of bankruptcy. In a Chapter 7 liquidation, a court-appointed trustee sells some of your assets to pay your debts. At the end of the process, the Bankruptcy Court discharges, or wipes away, most or all of your remaining debts. Chapter 13 bankruptcy, often referred to as a wage earner's plan, is most commonly used by those whose incomes are too high to qualify for Chapter 7. Chapter 13 is basically a debt consolidation plan. You repay creditors over an extended period of time under the terms of a court-approved payment plan. If at the end of the process you have made all of your payments, you will generally receive a discharge of your remaining debts.

I personally meet with my clients and prepare their case. My clients know that I have taken the time to make sure that they understand their options and then we proceed to take whatever action is necessary in meeting that goal

I provide assistance with personal and small business bankruptcy filings and representation in Chapter 7 and Chapter 13. Most people call me Dave. At my Minnetonka, Minnesota office, I have been practicing law in the Twin Cities area for almost 35 years. In late 2005, a reform act was passed which was supposed to make filing bankruptcy more difficult. Since then, however, I have helped lots of clients qualify to file either Chapter 7 or Chapter 13. While the paperwork has become a lot more complicated, most people who need to are still able to file. In fact, it seems that bankruptcy filings are higher than ever, both nationally and in Minnesota. If you would like to talk this over, I would be glad to discuss your situation on the phone. In about 15 minutes, I can do a screening that would give us a fairly good idea as to whether a Chapter 7 or Chapter 13 bankruptcy is a good idea for you.

I am a professional with experience in bankruptcy, debt settlement, and debt consolidation for both individuals and businesses. I have gained considerable practical experience from working for the Ninth Judicial District here in Minnesota and the U. S. Bankruptcy Court as well as other area law firms. I am familiar and comfortable with the many aspects of pretrial litigation and debtor/creditor remedies as well as the trial process itself. I have also handled all aspects of Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcies, from inception through resolution. My background includes investigation, research, counseling, administration, drafting, and being detail-oriented.
