Mike O'Malley Guitar Lessons
2018 Top Pro
About this pro
I've been playing guitar for over 30 years & have a diploma from Music Tech in Minneapolis. Also I've been playing in bands the whole time and have recorded 2 instrumental cd's with my band "No Walls". I write a column for Guitar9 records that is published on the web and they handle distribution for our cd's. With having alot of experience I can show students how to apply music theory and techniques right away to the style of music that they are into, I work individually with each student to help them realize and achieve there goals. I love watching people develop as musicians while keeping me involved with music twenty four hours a day. Working out of my house is a great advantage as well as being my own boss.
Customers rated this pro highly for professionalism, work quality, and value.

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? For guitar lessons I charge $50 per hour, $38 for 45 minutes & $25 per half hour. I also have a recording studio & record bands & solo artists those prices will vary depending on the project. I can help with production or perform on parts I also know some drummers that are for hire.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?Being a working musician I am always learning new things and figuring out ways to teach it to students. I learn around 300 songs a year that I teach to students and I am constantly expanding my skills and technique on the instrument as well as keeping up with recording and live technology.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?I'm a musician and I also have a background in sales training, putting the two together is easy and very rewarding. I've always wanted to be my own boss.
