My name is Alex, but you can call me Zandra. I have been studying energy healing since 2015. I am a Reiki Master and Healing Touch Practitioner. I pride myself on creating a safe, supportive, and healing space for people. My work is gentle but profound. I am also certified in Healing Touch for Animals Level 1.
I have a Master of Arts degree in Holistic Health. I am bridging the gap between Eastern and Western medicine by educating and raising awareness for more integrative and complementary therapies in our community. As an energy healing therapy practitioner, I am called to serve and support individuals on their healing journey. I am passionate about educating others on how to take better care of themselves and open to a wholehearted way of living. I also envision a world where holistic and integrative medicine is not only the norm but is easily accessible to all who need it.
In addition to energy healing, I have studied and practice yoga, breathwork, meditation, aromatherapy, bodywork (massage, shiatsu, ultimate body healing), Emotion Code, dance movement therapy, herbalism, and food as medicine.
The beauty of my work is I can work in person, but I also offer remote or distant healing sessions, as energy healing is not limited by time, space, or distance. I look forward to working with you!
For a more detailed description of my work, please read below:
Energy healing is a gentle, non-invasive form of therapy that balances the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects of health. It is based on the idea that we are energetic beings with many energy pathways in our bodies. When our energy becomes stuck or stagnant due to stress or trauma, dis-ease or illness occur. Energy healing helps restore balance in our energetic body to achieve a state of calm and peace for healing to occur. I believe that all healing is self-healing (meaning everybody has the capability to heal themselves), and I use an individualized approach to provide both Reiki and/or Healing Touch. I create a safe space to support the client in their healing process. Upon first meeting, I schedule at least 2 hours with the client for ample time to do both a holistic verbal assessment, an energetic assessment, at least 60 minutes of treatment, and time for feedback at the end. The assessments inform me of where to focus the healing for the session and what techniques to use. I use energy healing to assess the client’s energy field to discover where energy might be stagnant or blocked, with intention, hands touching on or near the body, and specific techniques to balance, clear, and ground the client. I believe in empowering the client with awareness and education on how they can continue self-healing after our time together. Additionally, if permitted, I will share with the client any information received during the session.
Reiki is an ancient Japanese form of energy healing that stands for “life force” energy. It is a unique vibrational frequency that I am attuned to. When I work with a client, I channel this energy by using 12 different placements both on the front and back of the body, and the energy flows where it needs to go. It is a very gentle, sweet, and sacred form of energy healing.
Healing Touch is another form of energy healing that is heart-centered, gentle, and non-invasive. Healing Touch was founded by a nurse in the 1970’s and has a unique application as it is now widely used in hospitals, veterans’ homes, and assisted living facilities. Like Reiki, it is also very gentle. However, it is more technique-focused and developed to complement the conventional western model of health care.
Energy healing stimulates our parasympathetic nervous system (PNS) or our rest and digest. This is the state where healing takes place in our bodies. Energy healing aids in relaxation and stress reduction. It can also help reduce pain and inflammation, accelerate healing from surgery or injury, support and reduce anxiety, depression, and PTSD, increase energy and reduce fatigue, support during major life transitions, support spiritual growth and self-development. It is also imperative to keep an open mind, as skepticism can reduce the effectiveness of treatments.
