We had to leave our dog alone for much longer than we normally do. Jerrie responded to my request right away. She walked our dog and spent some time with her on the deck. She provided us with feedback about the visit. We were glad that we didn’t have to worry about the dog and that we didn’t have to rush home. Thank you, Jerrie.Aug 29, 2019VerifiedPet Nanny by Jerrie on Thumbtack.com's reply
I came to the Minneapolis area for a 3 month work contract with a very odd schedule. I am staying in a hotel with a cat and my Labrador. I felt so bad thinking about my dog being cooped up for 13 hours so I contacted Jerrie because of her great reviews. I'm so glad that I did! She comes and walks my dog for me while I'm at work. It makes my long work day so much easier knowing that my boy is being taken care of! He certainly lacks manners (we're working on it!) and I appreciate that she puts up with his shenanigans! I love that she keeps a log of what's going on while she is here as well as sharing little tidbits about herself as well. Jerrie really truly cares about animals. Even though I didn't hire her to care for my cat, she always makes sure to give her some love and attention while she's here too! If I ever come back to Minneapolis I will definitely hire her again! Thanks Jerrie! We appreciate you so much!Oct 31, 2015VerifiedPet Nanny by Jerrie on Thumbtack.com's reply
Thank you, Sam. Hope the job is going well. I miss the kids (pets)
Jerrie was a pet sitter for my chihuahua Milo for years. She also would even house sit for me, and take care of him and my home when I was out of town. She was so patient with him despite him taking a long time to warm up to new people, he bonded with her right away. Jerrie is so natural with animals and such a kind and caring person. She goes above and beyond to send you updates, pictures, and even keeps a detailed notebook about how your dog does each time she dog sits and what activities they do (walking, playing, feeding). I trusted her completely to care for my dog and would recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, reliable and responsive pet sitter.Apr 25, 2018Pet Nanny by Jerrie on Thumbtack.com's reply
Thank you, Natalie. I so enjoyed Milo. When I had him for about a year and a half I finally found a home for him thru Blue Sky Rescue. He cried when I had to leave him. He got so attached to me. He now lives with a handicap man and was told he is doing well with him. He did not like the first family. Did not like the husband. But, the guy in the wheelchair was a match made in heaven. Of course when one signs over the rights to a shelter I had no contact with Milo after that. Your review makes me happy! Again Thank you, Jerrie
Jerrie was incredible! Our pups were happy and well cared for. She texted us after she walked them, and after learning that our son had left them out of the kennel incorrectly, went BACK to our house to kennel them. Wow! We will be working with her again! She even texted us pics of our 2 pups while we were gone.Oct 10, 2019VerifiedPet Nanny by Jerrie on Thumbtack.com's reply
Awwww! Jackie this is awesome! I would do this for anyone if that is the requirement and someone else didn't take on the responsibility that was given to them. They were awesome! That Rudy! What a ham! Thank you again, Jackie Pet Nanny by Jerrie
We chatted via phone and plan to meet and greet soon. Very personable lady and a genuine animal lover. I think my dog and she will get along great.Mar 25, 2017VerifiedPet Nanny by Jerrie on Thumbtack.com's reply
Thank you Linda. I look forward to meeting Shane. I love Golden Retrievers. Saw a puppy the other day @ Chuck and Don's, 9 weeks old I had never seen a puppy golden retriever before. What a ball full of fur. They are being trained for Helping Paws for the Military Veterans. He was so cute. One clients said, "Watch out she'll end up taking your animals home." That is how much I love animals. I too have fostered a dog for one year and 2 cats. I appreciate the review. Jerrie Rimas
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?I am reasonable, punctual and go above and beyond my time. I do not charge a fee for the first initial visit. It is up to clients if they want to reimburse me for coming out the distance. I offer discounts to seniors and those who live close within a 2 mile radius from where I live. There are times I work with the client on cost. I also, offer a free day during the week for those who live within the 2 mile radius. I too have created gift certificates for pet sitting for those who wish to give as a gift for Christmas, birthdays and weddings for vacation planning. Most clients charge extra for Holidays, I charge the same rate of pay per visit, most of the time the client will leave a tip during Christmas which is greatly appreciated.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?First I get the quote-talk with them by phone, personal email or sometimes thru Thumbtack. Then we schedule a meet and greet at the clients, on the first visit and get to meet with their fur babies to see if we get along. I pretty much watch their temperament. Then I introduce myself and show them documents I have created for Pet Sitting Requirements and a profile of me with my gigs and references. I explain my services. Sometimes it doesn't always work that way because they talk first. But I am personable with them and start talking about the last gig I did.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I want to take classes in EMT and Animal Communication. I have a way with animals, talk to them and they listen. However for the EMT classes, they only offer them for Firefighters, EMT staff because there are animals in need when there are fires or animals who are stuck in objects. I do administer meds (pill, liquid and needles). I also supply decals for the clients windows for the firefighters to help save the number of pets inside in case there is a fire. Also, volunteer for Can-Do-Canines which is a dog group for people with special needs. Not to mention various rescue groups as a volunteer and helping with benefits to help raise money for the rescue groups to house unwanted animals. I too have fostered and boarded my clients pets when in need and found homes in extreme crisis.
