Kathy was very friendly, flexible and communicated right away on setting up a meeting. Nice studio for music lessons and close to my home.Aug 28, 2019VerifiedOpus Music Academy's reply
Thank you Sally! Your daughter is an absolute joy to work with!
I've been taking piano lessons now with Kathy Petersen of Opus for almost 16 months and I've learned so much in that time. I'm 40 years old and it goes to show that Kathy's style works, no matter where you are at in life. Kathy is intuitive as far as knowing where to put the focus for where you are succeeding and areas that need more attention. We use online games, apps, books and hands-on playing during lessons along with my own practicing. So many great tools to choose from. I've wanted to play piano for years and now....I am! Thank you Opus Music Academy! I'll recommend you to anybody. I already have!Mar 9, 2019Review from GoogleOpus Music Academy's reply
Mike, thank you for this uplifting review! It's a joy to have you as a student.
Opus Music Academy is an innovative new music academy offering at home lessons, flexibility in scheduling and locations, and now new fun group classes. My daughter is looking forward to their Disney Showcase Camp this summer!Mar 5, 2019Review from GoogleOpus Music Academy's reply
Thank you Tanya!
I've been with Opus Music Academy since it's inception. I find Opus to be communicative in the coordination of lessons, reasonably priced, and my son is receiving a high level of instruction with his trombone teacher. Best of all, it all happens in my home. How convenient!Mar 19, 2019Review from GoogleOpus Music Academy's reply

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? All lessons have varying prices depending on the instructor and length of lesson. Also, all Opus students and military (active or not) receive 10% discounts on all classes, camps, and group lessons.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? In the beginning, all communication is through me (Kathy Petersen). We determine what are the student's musical goals, budget, and availabiltiy. Then I play "matchmaker" and place them with one or two teachers that most fit their needs. I set up a free trial lesson with those teachers to make sure everyone likes each other, and then I proceed with registration and invoicing. After lessons have begun, most communication is between student and teacher...however families are always encouraged to check with me too if they have questions or concerns. I am always available to help out. I do check in with families from time to time for feedback and to see if there are any needs they have that I can help meet.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I am happy to send over any instructor's resumes if students want to know more about their educational background in relation to music.
