Grace was great to work with. Very friendly and accommodating. She was able to complete my alterations in just a few days.

Thank you so much! I enjoyed working with you. Could you possibly send me a photo of you in your gown? I'd like to add it to my portfolio. How are the masks working out?

Alterations, Tailoring, and Clothing Design

Grace is so talented. I came in with a bridesmaids dress that was at least 2 sizes too small in my back. She completely reconstructed the back with the extra fabric from my hem and even took the time to hand sew very delicate parts to get the same affect that was on other parts of the dress. Many people would’ve turned me away with what we were dealing with. She finished it very quickly and I’m so thankful! I’ll be back anytime I need any alterations. Highly recommend! THANK YOU GRACE!

I had two suits and a pair of pants altered and I couldn’t be happier. Grace was super friendly and detailed. She made sure everything fit just right. Amazing Grace!

Alterations, Tailoring, and Clothing Design

I ended up getting my wedding suits the week before the wedding. In a panic, I found Grace's Custom Creations. She was absolutely incredible and managed to take care of me and one of my groomsmen in only two days, one for each of us. She was incredibly polite and friendly and willing to work with us on whatever we asked. I couldn't have asked for more out of a tailor and I would not hesitate to do business with her again. If you are in need of tailoring on short notice, she is your woman.

Wow! Thank you so much Seth! I really just do what I would want someone to do for me. I'd be happy to work with you again on whatever project is next! Btw, did you mean to send me a new quote today?

Alterations, Tailoring, and Clothing Design

Went in with four pairs of suit pants that I needed hemmed and taken in. About a week later I had four pairs of pants that fit perfectly for a reasonable fee. She'll be my go to seamstress from now on.

Thank you Damion! I look forward to working with you again!

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

I do have set hourly prices ($20/hour) for most items of clothing. Simple upholstery varies, depending on the complexity.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

First, I discuss the project with them to see if it is something I can do. If I can, we schedule an appointment to actually see the project - then I will give a quote and discuss any other things that might be needed to complete the project, such as zippers, buttons, matching thread etc.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have been sewing for nearly 40 years. I started making baby clothes and as my son grew, I continued to make him clothing. He LOVED being able to tell others that his clothing was "one of a kind"! I have always given "homemade" gifts to family and friends. In the years since, I have sold clothing at various Renaissance themed events in the Midwest - offering mostly readymade items. Custom sewing is what I really prefer - it gives both me and my clients an outlet for creativity!
