Introduction: Hi, I’m Ashley Everson, Anicca Creative is an independent studio I founded to support others with movement and mindfulness.
I work with every client individually to create a personalized experience, which allows me to meet you wherever you are on your journey. This is your practice, it should work for you, not the other way around!
I began suffering hip and low back pain early in high school, after unsuccessful doctor visits, periodic pain became something I viewed as a normal part of my life. When the pandemic began I found myself with extra time wanting to do something that would help me feel better, I started doing online yoga classes at home and stumbled upon a few fascial stretching and conditioning classes. The progress I was seeing and feeling in my own movement patterns got me interested in supporting others and I decided to sign up for YTT (yoga teacher training) at 612 Jungle.
In the Western World yoga is more widely known as a posture-based physical fitness, stress-relief and relaxation technique. Prior to YTT my knowledge of yoga was limited to the Western view; during YTT I learned that the physical portion only makes up a small amount of the yoga philosophy, which was originally meant to be a tool to train and discipline your mind.
Through yoga teacher training and an 8-week self-led MBSR (mindfulness-based stress reduction) program I learned about different mindfulness techniques, and how to incorporate them into my daily life.
Yoga and mindfulness have truly changed my life, I started Anicca Creative so I could share that knowledge with others!
