Scott Elmer of Dreamscaping did an excellent job on our mini-interior redesign. He did excellent work on a subway tile look for our kitchen backsplash and meticulously painted the many yards of chair rail and white moulding that had to be repainted all over our home. He also installed a new front door and fixed and reinstalled cabinet doors and closet doors. We are thrilled with the way that our home looks now!May 18, 2016Verified
Scott did a significant amount of work for us at Whispers of Hope, a women's residential counseling facility. He is a perfectionist who takes great pride in his work. He works extremely hard, has a great demeanor about him and is always looking for things he can do to help - above and beyond the basic requirements of the job. Scott is outstanding! If I could rate him higher than 5 starts I would!!!Apr 9, 2015
I had Scott Elmer at Dreamscaping, Inc. give me a quote to repair my deck that was in disrepair. The quote that I received from him was fair and I requested he start the work. He started the work on a beautiful Friday. He planned on returning to finish the work on Monday. We had a significant snowfall over the weekend and he was unable to return on Monday. Scott continued to communicate with me about his plan to return to finish the work. I appreciated that quite a bit. I have had Scott do other work at my home, he is very professional and his work is quality. I would recommend Dreamscaping, Inc.Apr 9, 2015
Scott worked on our basement remodel in the spring of 2013. He was efficient with time, priced reasonably and did quality work. I would highly recommend Scott for any remodel work to my family and friends.Apr 8, 2015

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? In a competitive market, I believe my prices are fair, according to my customers. I do not mark up my subcontractors bids, so that if you would want to pay them directly, that is fine. I a credit card is used, a 2% fee is added that the credit card company charges me. When I put together a bid, I list out allowances for furnishings so that you are able to properly compare my bid. If you find a furnishing that differs in price from the allowance, you will already know the change to the bid.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I find that especially for basements, customers sometimes have a difficult time visualizing what the finished space will look like. That is why I have design software so that I can walk you through what the final result will look like. I find this gives my customers greater comfort in knowing what the result will be, so there are no surprises. My estimates are very detailed, many pages long so that you will know exactly what goods and services are included in my estimate.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?As a licensed remodeler, I had to take the state exam to be licensed. I also take continuing education each year to keep up on changes in the industry, especially related to building code compliance. I have been remodeling since I was in middle school, as we remodeled our entire house during the time I was growing up. I have now been in business 15 years, so experience also helps. There are many websites devoted to remodeling, so I check those to keep updated.
