CH Professional Catering really saved me in my time of need. I would definitely recommend them. The Good: - The food was delicious, and we got to keep the leftovers - The prices were definitely doable, especially for a wedding - They were very flexible, and Jason told us he would be able to cook any type of food we wanted. We went with Chicken Florentina, London Broil, and Pumpkin Gnocchi, and we chose green beans, mac and cheese, caesar salad, and scalloped potatoes for the sides. Everything was good. - Plates, silverware, breads, water glasses, and beverages were included. This was a huge relief for me. The Bad: - There was one lady who was working at the wedding that was SO GRUMPY. Everyone knew who she was and noted how unhappy she was to be there. She was even rude with me, and I was the bride! - I ended up chatting with Lizz once I signed the agreement. Jason was super easy to get a hold of, but Lizz sometimes took days to respond or didn't respond at all. If you were more nervous/ on top of it than I was, this may have been more of a problem. For example, we were told we'd get an updated price for the buffet, but the day of the wedding, we still didn't know exactly how much to pay. Overall, even with the bad points, I would still recommend CH Catering to others.

Kurt did a cooking class at Byerlys. I was so impressed with his menu that day, his life story and his continued strength. I purchased his book to read of his courage and recovery as well as fabulous recipes. It is rare you get to meet someone with such high integrity as Kurt.

We had a great experience with this company. The food was great, service strong. And folks loved the food truck idea. We loved not having to cram into our small kitchen at our cabin. I would highly recommend using this company.

Jill taught me that cooking from scratch was very easy and so much more rewarding than pre-packaged food. I was very interested in homemade sauces and dressings. She taught me the basics and showed me how to elaborate. I made Eggs Benedict with a hollandaise sauce that was out of this world. We also made from scratch an enchilada sauce. I highly recommend Jill. She is very passionate about her work and a very skilled chef.

Chef John Politte is a wonderful partner of Community Emergency Assistance Programs (CEAP). Chef John catered our Spring Delight fundraiser and comes to our lobby once a month to do a cooking demonstration and hand out delicious food samples to families we serve. He is kind-spirited, hard working, and has a great sense of humor! Our families and staff always ask when he will return for his next cooking demonstration. You can count on Chef John to be prompt and professional for any event and provide wonderful food that everyone will enjoy.

I attended a cooking class where Chris Schlueter showed us how to create a variety of dishes using kale. She made it interesting and demonstrated how to use kale in making pesto, pasta dishes and more. The best part? We got to taste everything!!! This was a practical class, and yes, I can make these recipes at home.

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much do private cooking lessons cost?

You can take private cooking classes to have fun, to learn a new skill, to improve your health, to bond with your partner, to enjoy a playful first date or to have a unique birthday party experience. Nationally the average cost of private cooking lessons ranges between $100 and $150. Prices can vary, depending on where you live, the type of cooking class you’re taking, the ingredients the chef provides, and the reputation of the chef. Cooking classes with Anthony Bourdain will clearly cost more than classes with a local restaurant owner. The number of people in the class will also affect the cost, with group lessons often priced per person to account for the cost of ingredients. For example, for group lessons, a brunch workshop may cost an average of $70 per person, a steak dinner with sides could cost an average of $80-$85 per person, and a sushi lesson could cost an average of $100 per person. Ingredients play a major role in cost, as the chef will pre-purchase the food you will be working with. Weekday classes will usually cost less than weekend classes.
