FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I do have a standard pricing system for my service. My pricing is determined both by the average price of what a flute teacher in the area would charge and also on the fact that I have a Master of Music Degree.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I dialogue with them to see where they are at in the process of learning the flute and what their overall goals are. I then like to discuss and figure out the path that best fits for their particular journey. I try to meet each student where they are at. Everyone learns differently.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor of Music Degree in Flute Performance from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota and a Master of Music Degree in Flute Performance from the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls. I have not only been taught how to to play the flute but more specifically, I have gone through training that has taught me how to teach the flute. I believe both skills are essential to being a good teacher. Just because you are a good performer, does not mean you are a good teacher.
