Friendly and went out of his way to look at other items to make sure of the quality of his, which was great. I would hire him again.

I can honestly say you'll never find a better handyman then Chuck. His estimate was very accurate and much less than the others. He is incredibly professional in everything that he does. He even took the time to show my 7 year old what he was doing and answered ALL of the questions he had! Incredibly prompt communication and he is very honest which is hard to find now a days. I really wish I had hired Chuck 2 years ago when we first moved into our house. I can honestly say I'll never look for another handyman again!

He asked me to wait until his spring break was over to do a bid then decide to back out without offering a bid or anything - He’s awful - also asked me not to go thru thumbtack- asked to text off the site - sounds shady -

Chuck Hecht's reply
Wow! This customer continued to demand that I give her a bid for a kitchen remodel over the phone, site unseen. I offered to stop by for a free estimate but she seemed way to anxious. I declined the job after her behavior showed a red flag. I don’t need any customers like that.

Highly recommended. Chuck responded quickly to my request, showed up on time, was thoughtful in his recommendations (which he executed as planned) and was kind enough to advise on other issues. 5 stars.

Chuck was awesome! He did multiple repairs for me. He installed a ceiling fan and had to modify the complicated wiring. He made an adaptation to properly place the fan. He came equipped to make the modifications. He patched a hole I put in my ceiling. After fan was in it wasn't quite right. He came back immediately and fixed it. He assessed sink faucet replacement and inspected it first. He found one just wasn't put together correctly and fixed it. He cleaned up after work was done. Chuck asked me if that was all I needed. I asked if he knew why a water softener didn't need salt. Here went above and beyond to take the time to look at it, likely fixing what is called a salt bridge, educated me on what that was. He told me what it would likely cost if I needed replacement. Again, chuck was AWESOME!!!

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

I offer a two hour block for $100, or a one hour minimum for $75. Anything above that will require a quote.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

A typical new customer contacts me by phone and then sends over a few cell phone pictures by text to help me understand the items that require work. If I am unavailable at the time, please just send the pics. I am able to keep my costs so low because I am a one man operation. However, with that fact, I need to communicate through text messages much more than a larger company. I just can not take every call when I am on a ladder, painting, or laying tile.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have remodeled many homes and dozens of bathrooms. My work is split between Handyman tasks, Property Management work, and assisting in larger remodels.
